Effie G. Beasley
Mrs. Effie G. Beasley died early Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.
She was born in Carthage, the daughter of the late W.L. and Essie Waggoner Gross. Mrs. Beasley had made her home in Vicksburg for some 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Candle Lighters Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herman Gross, Sam William Gross and Herbert Gross; two sisters, Gladys Brister and Marguerite Flowers; and a son, Charles Lloyd Beasley.
Mrs. Beasley is survived by her husband, Robert Eugene Beasley of Vicksburg; two daughters, Patricia Tullos and her husband, Bobby, of Vicksburg and Rita Flynn and her husband, Bill, of Tupelo; a sister, Walterine Bowen of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Elmer Gross of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Jennifer Abdeen and Emily Embry, both of Vicksburg, Kay Agnew of Jackson and Sarah Lambert of Corinth; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Redbone Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight.
Pallbearers will be Keith Anglin, Bob Gross, Bill Gross, Lloyd Gross, Marc Bowen, Chuck Davis, Bill Clark, Billy Fortenberry and Marshall Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Candle Lighters Sunday School Class.
