Lila Lowe Boolos died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005. She was 66.

Born in Delhi, La., she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. Lowe and Virgie Polan Lowe. A resident of Vicksburg since 1957, Mrs. Boolos was a longtime employee of Charles’ Department Store. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. &#8220Bill” Boolos.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim B. Schultz and her husband, Kevin, of Long Beach; three sons, Timothy Lee Boolos and his wife, Vicki, of Mary Esther, Fla., Paul Ellis Boolos and Todd Andrew Boolos and his wife, Tammy, all of Vicksburg; two brothers, Andrew C. Lowe of Satsuma, Fla., and Bobby Lowe of Chattanooga, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Kasey Schultz, Brittany Boolos, Lindsay Boolos, Matthew Boolos, Lawren Boolos, Brooks Boolos and Maria Boolos; five nephews; and her longtime companion, Joe Ball.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with the Very Rev. John Morris, pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Kevin Lowe, Michael Lowe, Kurt Lowe, Mark Lowe, Marty Lowe and David Boolos.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Abraham, Leo Boolos, Dr. Lee Giffin, David Daniels, M. John Nosser and Kelly Cummins.

Rosemary Woodbury Brown.

ANGLETON, Texas – Rosemary Woodbury Brown of Angleton, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005. She was 62.

Mrs. Brown was born in Memphis to Joseph and Iva Lee Woodbury. She worked in the CEI Program at Angleton High School for eight years, retiring in 2004.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth King and Patricia Hinds.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn Brown of Angleton; two daughters, Heather Brown of Angleton and Tonja Davis of West Columbia; a sister, Jackie Vines of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E. Highway 35 in Angleton. Burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery.

James Edward Kirby.

James Edward &#8220Jim” Kirby died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 52.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., he had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1985. Mr. Kirby was employed by Entergy Operations Inc. as a nuclear quality inspector for the past 17 years at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Donald Kirby.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah &#8220Debi” Hamm Kirby of Vicksburg; a daughter, Shelley Lambert Hearn of Terry; two sons, James Jeremy Kirby of Talladega, Ala., and Jason Martin Kirby of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Emileigh Lauren Hearn and Reagan Elizabeth Hearn; his mother, Marianne Kirby of Somerville, Tenn.; one sister, Loisanne Dobbins of Arlington, Tenn.; and three brothers, Robert Kendrick Kirby of Somerville, David Russell Kirby of Mesa, Ariz., and Donald Stephen Kirby of Arlington.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Riles Funeral Home and from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, Miss. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen with interment at the Snowdown Methodist Church Cemetery in Iuka.

Jake Savage.

PATTISON – Jake Savage died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, in Claiborne County. He was 78.

Mr. Savage was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Wren and Gusta Wilson-Wren; and a brother, Lee Wren Jr.

He is survived by a brother, Sam Wren of Pattison; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including Cebell Savage of Pattison.

Services will be at 2 this afternoon at St. Mark Church in McBride with the Rev. Roosevelt Harried officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson in charge. Visitation will be be from 1 p.m. today until the service at the funeral home.

Rosie Lee Thomas.

LORMAN – Rosie Lee Thomas died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the Claiborne County Hospital. She was 66.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Jessimine Ridge Baptist Church, an usher and a member of the Baptist Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Davis and Vergetter Thomas; a son, Phalander Thomas; and a brother, Kenneth Combs.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by three sons, Edward Thomas Jr. of Hopewell, Va., and Anthony Thomas and Elroy C. Thomas, both of Lorman; a daughter, Tina M. Thomas of Austell, Ga.; three brothers, Isaac Thomas of Moss Point and Johnny Thomas and Charlie Thomas, both of Jackson; seven sisters, Ida M. Davis of Lorman, Florence Antoni of Baton Rouge, Juanita Thomas, Sallie Hawkins, Cora Blackmon and Julia Green, all of Jackson, and Delphine Walker of Marietta, Ga.; two aunts; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jessimine Ridge Baptist Church in Lorman with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson in charge.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.

Robert Vaughn Jr.

Services for Robert &#8220Bob” Vaughn Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mr. Vaughn died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at his home. He was 92.

Mr. Vaughn was retired from the Mississippi River Commission. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where he was on the Trustee Board.

He was a 1935 graduate of Magnolia Avenue High School and a graduate of Southern Christian Institute in Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Joseph Vaughn; and his parents, Robert Sr. and Pauline Vaughn.

He is survived by an adopted daughter, Judith Hall Henderson of Chula Vista, Calif.

Jessie Charles Ward.

PORT GIBSON – Jessie Charles Ward died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 67.

Mr. Ward was a Port Gibson resident.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Miller Ward and Nana Mae Ward; his wife, Bernice Ward; and a sister, Beulah Pendleton.

He is survived by three sons, Henry L. Ward of Port Gibson, Jerry Ward of Vicksburg and Timothy Ward of Natchez; nine daughters, Ida Mae Rogers, Jacqueline Ward and Toni Clark, all of Port Gibson, Beatrice Ward and Jessica Brown, both of Lorman, Jessica Ward of Hermanville, Linda Johnson of Vicksburg, Joann Ward of Jackson and Trenessa Moore of Fayette; two brothers, Millard Ward and Louis Ward, both of Pattison; two sisters, Ora Gibbs of Jackson and Lee Dell Smith of Oakland, Calif.; 33 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McBride Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wells officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.

Annie Mae Warfield.

ROLLING FORK – Annie Mae Warfield died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at her home in Rolling Fork. She was 46.

Mrs. Warfield is survived by her husband, A.C. Warfield of Rolling Fork; two sons, A.C. Warfield Jr. of Southaven and Artavaious Warfield of Rolling Fork; two daughters, Retaina Moore of Rolling Fork and Twonda Warfield of Vicksburg; two brothers, Bobby Lee Williams of Huntsville, Ala., and Jimmy Henry Macon of Michigan; eight sisters, Corrine Harris, Ruthie Price and Lois Thomas, all of Memphis, Nora Jean Harris of Chicago, Janice Ryce of Redwood, Ala., Edna Sanders of Woodland, Miss., Laura Ella Thomas of Michigan and Linda Oliver of Florida; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rising Star Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rolling Fork. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.

Roma Dale Warnock.

Services for Roma Dale Warnock will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner, pastor of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Mrs. Warnock died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.

Mrs. Warnock was a native of McComb and had lived in Vicksburg since 1955. She was the daughter of the late Forest Glenn and Anna Gertrude Kelly Wood.

Mrs. Warnock was a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital for 15 years and a private nurse for several years. She was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin W. Warnock, and a brother, Glen Wood Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa McLaughlin of Vicksburg; a son, Paul J. Warnock of Jackson; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles McLaughlin, Kelly Wood, Donnie Daffron, Alan Halliwell, Mark Wood and Mike Cassell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Peyton and the staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Home.

LaVonne Louise Rhodman Wood.

LaVonne Louise Rhodman Wood died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 54.

Mrs. Wood was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She attended Bowman Elementary School, Temple High School and Alcorn State University. She worked for a number of years at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station. She was a former member of the Standfield Missionary Baptist Church and Koinonia Assembly. She later joined Belmont Baptist Church of Utica, where she had served as choir director.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara Rhodman Prosser; and her grandmother, Mary Lou Rhodman.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Wood; three sons, Ronald Wood Jr., Kenneth Wood and James Wood, all of Vicksburg; a daughter, Shontel Wood of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Bernice Rhodman Laury of Atlanta; two brothers, Eddie Louis Rhodman of Columbus, Ohio, and Clarence Brown of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and members of the Williams and Rhodman families.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Burkes, pastor of Belmont Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service.

Randall & Hayes Memorial Funeral Home, 329 Mart Plaza, in Jackson, has charge of arrangements.
