Services for Deena LaVoren Campbell were at 1 p.m. Friday. Dr. Ollie Hardaway officiated. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Ms. Campbell died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 42.

She graduated from high school in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lewis.

She is survived by a son, Cavin R. Campbell of Vicksburg; two daughters, Lakeya Campbell of Vicksburg and Chania Campbell of Fort Jackson, S.C.; her parents, Herman J. Campbell Sr. and Edna E. Campbell; two brothers, Herman J. Campbell Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Sgt. Dell Antony Campbell of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters, Kisha Patton of Spring Lake, N.C., and Patrina Campbell of Vicksburg; her paternal grandmother, Perri E. Williams of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Opal Geraldine Crider.

MIZE – Opal Geraldine Crider died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Raleigh. She was 85.

Mrs. Crider moved to Vicksburg in 1952. She retired from Vicksburg Medical Center, where she served as a night supervisor for 38 years. She had been a Mize resident since 1991.

She was a member of Waco Church of God in Mize.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Crider.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna C. Hancock of Mize and Jackie McNeece of Brandon; a brother, Roger J. Francis of Mesquite, Nev.; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Arnold Amason officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McKinney, Dewayne McKinney, Kevin McNeece, Walt Amason, Scott Haire, John Hancock and Jimmy Hancock.

Jermaine Dorsey Lyons.

UTICA – Jermaine Dorsey Lyons, infant son of Jermaine D. Dorsey and Nikita R. Lyons, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at River Region Medical Center.

Additional survivors include two sisters, India N. Dart and Iyana J. Dorsey, both of Utica; his maternal grandmother, Vanessa Ann Lyons, of Utica; his paternal grandmother, Denita Dorsey, of Vicksburg; and his maternal great-grandfather, C.P. Lyons Sr., of Utica.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jimmy Dorsey.

Services and burial will be at noon today at Greater Zion Traveler’s M.B. Church in Utica under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. The Rev. Rodney Divinity will officiate.

Mary F. Young.

Mary F. Young died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 75.

Mrs. Young was a retired nurse. She was a member and assistant secretary of New Mount Zion M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Young Sr.; her parents, Spencer Jasper Sr. and Mary Davis Jasper; two brothers, Eddie Rankins and Spencer Jasper Jr.; and a sister, Josie Marie Green.

She is survived by her husband, Perry Young Sr.; two sons, Perry Young Jr., of Moss Point, and Larry J. Young, of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
