&#8220It feels good that both Warren County teams are getting out of district while Madison Central is staying home,” said WC coach Jay Harrison, whose team improved to 8-8-1, 4-1 in division. &#8220It says a whole lot about both schools.”

Both teams battled to a 0-0 regulation tie, then went through the first 10-minute overtime still knotted at zero. WC went up 1-0 late in the second overtime on a Heath Carroll goal, but the Jaguars battled back to score with about 30 seconds to play to again tie the game, and set up a shootout.

WC’s Jeremy Lawrence, Eric Richards, Tyler Wing, Heath Carroll and Rusty Waites all scored in the first shootout, but all five Madison players scored as well.

The game went into a second shootout, a sudden death period, and Kenneth Prince gave WC a 1-0 advantage. On Madison’s first shot in the second overtime, Brown dove to make a stop and tipped the ball, which then hit the crossbar and bounded out.

&#8220All it takes is a little touch to change the course of a shot,” Harrison said.

Warren Central was scheduled to play Terry today, but Terry forfeited to set up Tuesday’s showdown.

Vicksburg defeated Warren Central earlier in the season 3-0 and both teams have one loss. The Gators still have to defeat lowly Greenville today, a team they manhandled earlier in the year.

Julie Waddle’s second-half goal did not propel Warren Central to a win over Madison Central, but may have helped lock up a playoff spot.

Madison won the Division 3-5A championship, and now Vicksburg and Warren Central will meet for the final playoff spot on Tuesday. Warren Central beat Vicksburg earlier in the year, 1-0.

Both teams lost to Madison Central, and have beaten Greenville handily. If WC defeats Vicksburg, it automatically makes the playoffs. If VHS wins, a series of tiebreakers will be used to decide which team advances.

Andrea Harrison, Haley Davis, Marie Booth and Erin Sigh each scored a pair of goals as the Lady Flashes (13-6-1) crushed Jim Hill.

Ashley Magee and Summer Stanton each added a goal in the win.

Harrison and Mary Beth Croisdale had two assists each, while Booth, Rebecca Sigh and Amanda Guizerix each had an assist.

The Lady Flashes are scheduled to play at St. Andrew’s on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
