EDWARDS – Services for Amy Lee Burks will be at noon Friday at St. Paul M.B. Church in Utica with the Rev. Phillip Burks officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Thursday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Mrs. Burks died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 58.
She was a resident of Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Millie Horton Simpson and Willie Simpson.
She is survived by her husband, Alonzo Burks of Edwards; five daughters, Amelia Burks-Hunter, Romunda Burks Willis, Adana Burks, Lula Barnes-Robinson and LaEsha Barnes, all of Edwards; one stepson, James C. Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, John Simpson of Edwards; three sisters, Lois Barnes-Perkins of Edwards, Frankie Turner-Jackson of Chicago and Annie Bell Moore of Mount Vernon, Ill.; three grandchildren; and other relatives, including the Burns, Johnson, Horton and Taylor families.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Lee Turner, Johnny Miller, Cedric Burks, Alan Bailey, Percy Turner Jr. and Lee Robinson.
Mose C. Young.
Mose C. Young died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. He was 77.
Mr. Young was a retired minister and a former Greenville resident.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Jackson and Theresa Lee.
Survivors include six sons, Willie Young, Delainne Young, Michael Young and David Young, all of Las Vegas, Oliver Young of Buffalo, N.Y., and Joseph Young of Chicago; two daughters, Gilda Sanford of Greenville and Lula Lee of Las Vegas; and other relatives, including Amos Jackson of Natchez.
