James Carl Britt.

James Carl Britt died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 63.

Mr. Britt was an electrician.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Britt of South Carolina, Jay Britt and Jason Britt, both of Jackson; his mother, Bessie Lorraine Britt of Greenville; three sisters, Shirley Yeager of Greenville, Ellis Wolfe of Vicksburg and Deana Tucker of Jackson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mortimer Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow at Lakeview Gardens. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Theodore Fields.

LOS ANGELES – Services for Theodore Fields will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 until 6 today at the funeral home.

Mr. Fields died Monday, Feb. 6 2006, at Gardenia Memorial Hospital in Gardenia, Calif. He was 51.

He was born in Vicksburg. He was a resident of Los Angeles. He was a 1973 graduate of Harriet Tubman High School in Compton, Calif. He was employed with Theodore Family Dining for 18 years in Detroit. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Vallejo, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Carson Fields of Detroit; his mother, Virginia Fields of Los Angeles; his father, Theodore Vance of Detroit; his brother, Dr. Tedman Vance of South Africa; two stepsisters, both of Detroit; two stepbrothers, both of Detroit; his grandmother, Maggie Fields of Vicksburg; other relatives and friends, including Ruby Wilson, Ida Bass and Edna Garnett, all of Vicksburg.

Odell Smith.

Odell Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 57.

Mr. Smith was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Johnnie Smith Mitchell.

Survivors include one daughter, Catina Sims of Vicksburg; two brothers, Robert Lee Mitchell and Roger Lee Mitchell, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Annie Mae Allen and Barbara Lee Mitchell, both of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Shiloh M.B. Church with the Rev. Willie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Margie Faulks Thompson.

Margie Faulks Thompson died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

Born in Columbia, La., Mrs. Thompson had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1945. She was retired from the Mississippi Department of Human Services. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Thompson of Vicksburg; a daughter, Jo Thompson Haney of Greenville; a son, Freddie Y. Thompson of Arley, Ala.; one sister, Carmen Powers of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, La.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 today at Glenwood Funeral Home.
