Services for Annette Brown Chambers will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Benard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chambers died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.
A homemaker, she was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Chambers; a stepson, David Chambers; and her parents, Prince Brown and Kesi Hicks.
Survivors include four stepsons, Johnny Chambers of Chicago and Joe Chambers, Donald Chambers and Ernest Franklin, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; three stepdaughters, Bobbie Chambers of Vicksburg and Lauretta Chambers and Rose Mary Stewart, both of Milwaukee; her brother, Jessie Brown of Fountain, Colo.; two sisters, Alberta Mitchell of Randolph, Ill., and Dorothy Dukes of Detroit; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Frank Dimbly Sr.
Services for Frank Dimbly Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Locust Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Dimbly died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 70.
He was employed with Murdock Aircraft in Los Angeles. He was a member of Locust Grove M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Beulah Hamlin Demby; two sons, Frank Dimbly Jr. and Donald Oliver; one daughter, Jacqueline B. Moffett; and two brothers, William Demby and Robert Demby Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Banks Dimbly of Vicksburg; one daughter, Francine Dimbly of Los Angeles; one brother, Alex Demby of Vicksburg; one sister, Etta Mae Brown of Pearl; and other relatives, including Annie Mae Banks of Pearl.
James Willie Smith Sr.
PORT GIBSON – Services for James “Sweet” Willie Smith Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson with the Rev. Mable Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Scott’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 54.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Smith of Vicksburg; five sons, Edward Smith of Arlington, Texas, Dominic Smith and James Smith Jr., both of Vicksburg, James Bingham and Derrick Bingham, both of Port Gibson; two daughters, Pamela Flowers and Annie Flowers, both of Vicksburg; one brother, Harold Miller of Vicksburg; six sisters, Alice Bruce and Ruby Bell, both of Greenville, Bettie Craig, Joyce Watkins-White, Patricia Miller and Cheryl Smith, all of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
