Fannie Belle Hudson Nyman.

Fannie Belle Hudson Nyman, born Nov. 21, 1920, died on March 2, 2006, in Houston, Texas, after a lengthy illness. She was 85.

Fannie was born in Epps, La., and grew up in Pioneer, La. She was the daughter of Charles Owen Hudson and Arizona Lillian Hudson. She graduated from Pioneer High School in 1939.

Fannie moved to Vicksburg in 1939 to attend Street Sanitarium Nursing School, where she received her nursing certification. She married Nels Nyman in 1942 and became a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was a registered nurse anesthetist for 40 years at the Vicksburg Infirmary and the Vicksburg Hospital. As a nurse anesthetist, she enjoyed participating in the birth and care of many of Vicksburg’s citizens. She was a member of the Crawford Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Vicksburg Garden Club.

Her husband of 61 years, Nels J. Nyman, preceded her in death. Fannie is survived by two sons, Douglas J. Nyman and wife, Jacqueline, of Houston, Texas, and Carl M. Nyman and wife, Charlotte, of Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren, Stephanie Nyman of Hamilton, New Zealand, Eric Nyman of Lubbock, Texas, Joel Nyman of Dallas, Texas, and Jennifer Nyman of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister, Mary Ann Jones of Oak Grove, La.; and two brothers, George Crosby of Severn, Md., and Bing Crosby of Fort Smith, Ark. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Hudson and Albert Crosby; and a sister, Myrtle Yates.

The family appreciates the compassionate care and services provided by Park Place of CyFair, Park Manor of CyFair and Odyssey Health Care, all of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, from Crawford Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery under the direction of Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service at Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Carl T. Hudson, Robert Murin, Robert Butler, Eric Nyman, Joel Nyman and Chris Williams.

Kimbra Rone.

Kimbra Rone died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 29.

Survivors include her parents, James Carter of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Susie Rone of Vicksburg.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 5, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at Shady Lawn M.B. Church with the Rev. Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Service.
