Pearl Brown died Monday, March 20, 2006, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 84.

A lifelong resident of Warren County, Ms. Brown worked as a food service worker at Kuhn Memorial State Hospital.

Survivors include Vicksburg friends, including Dot McGee.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Chestine Coffie.

Chestine Coffie died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 76.

A homemaker, Mrs. Coffie was a retired employee of American Bank. She was a member of Rainbow Chapter No. 51 Order of Eastern Star and New Zion M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Coffie Jr.; her parents, Jake Austin and Emma Austin; one son, Willie Nicholson; five brothers, Leon Robinson, Joseph Austin, Jessie Austin, Jake Austin Jr. and Abraham Austin; and two sisters, Stella Tolliver and Isabella Austin.

Survivors include five sons, Sonny Nickerson of Austin, Texas, Jake Coffie and Bobby Coffie, both of Vicksburg, Tommy Coffie of Jackson and John B. Coffie of Fayetteville, N.C.; four daughters, Isabella Robinson of Stafford, Va., Kathy Tyler of Vicksburg, Betty Coffie Hardy of Topeka, Kan., and Ann Archer of California; three sisters, Sadie Mae Jones of Vicksburg, Evelyn Johnson and Rose Pollard, both of Camden, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Arnold Ray Smith.

AURORA, Ill. – Arnold Ray Smith died Monday, March 20, 2006, in Aurora, Ill. He was 51.

A native of Vicksburg, Mr. Smith had been a resident of Aurora since 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha James and Virginia Franklin Smith; and a sister, Wanda Gail Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica Smith of Aurora; one stepdaughter, Shawnice Mason of Aurora; four stepsons, Tyrone Mason, Jerome Mason, Demetris Mason and Quincy Mason, all of Aurora; three brothers, James Monroe, Lawrence Smith and Charles Smith, all of Vicksburg; five sisters, Kathryn Huell, Patricia Anderson, Janice Jones, Ethel Pearl Smith and Debra Harris, all of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; and other relatives, including Wilbur Smith and Joe Franklin.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ in Aurora. Burial will follow at Riverhill Memorial Park in Batavia, Ill. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at James Funeral Service in Aurora.

Larry J. Stimage.

EDWARDS – Larry J. Stimage died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 51.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Survivors include five daughters, Vanessa Lane, Sharon Lewis, Cynthia Dulaney, Tynesha Strong, all of Edwards, and Natasha Stimage of Raymond; two sons, Patrick Lewis of Raymond and Eric Denson of Jackson; one brother, John Stimage of Edwards; two sisters, Dianne West of Utica and Ethel Brooks of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends, including Delois Turner of Edwards.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Lou Willie Wright.

Lou Willie Wright died Monday, March 20, 2006, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 85.

Born in Chickasaw County, Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and member of Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wright; and her parents, John Wesley Nichols and Lucy A. Henderson.

Survivors included two sons, Don Johnson of Vicksburg and Jerry Johnson of Water Valley; her companion, Jim Cox of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. Ricky Dorrell officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Vines, Mike Johnson, Frank Johnson, Charles Houston, Ricky Johnson and Jason Cooper.
