Helen R. Beasley.
HERMANVILLE – Helen R. Beasley died Friday, March 17, 2006, in Vicksburg. She was 87.
A homemaker and Baptist aide, Mrs. Beasley was a member of Order of Eastern Star and usher board.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Rogers Sr. and Ellen Thornton; two brothers, Charlie Rogers Jr. and Steve Rogers; and five sisters, Odessa Rogers Jackson, Margaret Rogers, Beatrice Rogers, Ollie Rogers and Bay-Bay Rogers.
Survivors include one daughter, Earnestine Beasley Jones of Hermanville; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Charlie Grear officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Friday at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Charles Eunice Brown.
Services for Charles Eunice Brown will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove M.B. Church with Dr. Charles Chiplin officiating. Burial will follow at Brown’s Family Cemetery in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service in Vicksburg.
Mr. Brown died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 49.
A millwright at International Paper, Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Felix M. Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah L. Brown of Vicksburg; two sons, Alfonso J. Brown and Anthony C. Brown, both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Ashanti B. Thomas of Vicksburg; his parents, Eunice “Charlieā and Estella M. Brown, both of Vicksburg; one sister, Verna V. Brown of Vicksburg; one grandchild; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Pearl Brown.
Services for Pearl Brown were at 10 this morning at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.
Ms. Brown died Monday, March 20, 2006, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 84.
A lifelong resident of Warren County, Ms. Brown was a food service worker at Kuhn Memorial State Hospital.
Survivors include Vicksburg friends, including Dot McGee.
Chestine Coffie.
Services for Chestine Coffie will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Zion M.B. Church with the Rev. Henry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Coffie died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 76.
A homemaker, Mrs. Coffie was a retired employee of American Bank. She was a member of Rainbow Chapter No. 51 Order of Eastern Star and New Zion M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Coffie Jr.; her parents, Jake Austin and Emma Austin (McClain); one son, Willie Nicholson; five brothers, Leon Robinson, Joseph Austin, Jessie Austin, Jake Austin Jr. and Abraham Austin; and two sisters, Stella Tolliver and Isabella Austin.
Survivors include five sons, Sonny Nickerson of Austin, Texas, Jake Coffie and Bobby Coffie, both of Vicksburg, Tommy Coffie of Jackson and John B. Coffie of Fayetteville, N.C.; four daughters, Isabella Robinson of Stafford, Va., Kathy Tyler of Vicksburg, Betty Coffie Hardy of Topeka, Kan., and Ann Archer of California; three sisters, Sadie Mae Jones of Vicksburg, Evelyn Johnson and Rose Pollard, both of Camden, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Eliza Callahan-Tory-Gibbs.
EDWARDS – Eliza Callahan-Tory-Gibbs died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at River Region Medical Center West Campus in Vicksburg. She was 94.
Born in Copiah County, she was a longtime resident of Edwards.
Survivors include three daughters, Jo Ann Tory and Mary Myles, both of Edwards, and Ruby T. Hill of Raymond; one son, Joe Tory of Saginaw, Mich.; one brother, William Callahan of Sun City, Calif.; five grandchildren she reared; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Cherry Grove M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson.
Elizabeth Kahee.
Services for Elizabeth Kahee will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kahee died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 79.
A retired domestic worker, Mrs. Kahee was a member of New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church, where she was on the usher board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kahee; parents, Isiah and Frances Farmer; one son, Alex Curtis; and one grandson, Robert Kahee Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Alonzo Curtis Sr. and Robert Curtis, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Catherine Washington of Rolling Fork; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry J. Stimage.
EDWARDS – Services for Larry J. Stimage will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove M.B. Church in Learned, Miss. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Mr. Stimage died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 51.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Survivors include five daughters, Vanessa Lane, Sharon Lewis, Cynthia Dulaney, Tynesha Strong, all of Edwards, and Natasha Stimage of Raymond; two sons, Patrick Lewis of Raymond and Eric Denson of Jackson; one brother, John Stimage of Edwards; two sisters, Dianne West of Utica and Ethel Brooks of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends, including Delois Turner of Edwards.
Patricia Conway Tillman Thomas.
Services for Patricia Conway Tillman Thomas will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church with the Rev. Rudy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service.
Mrs. Thomas died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 56.
A home health nurse, Mrs. Thomas was employed with Parkview Home Health and Capitol Home Health. A choir member and assistant secretary, she also served on the Board of Trustees at Mercy Seat M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Harvey; one son, Kevin Thomas; two brothers, Loye Tillman and Tamothy T. Tillman; her grandmother, Lillie Bell Smith; and one sister, Lillie Ruth Harvey.
Survivors include her mother, Rosie Lee Tillman of Vicksburg; one son, Timothy T. Tillman Jr. of Vicksburg; one sister, Linda D. Tillman-Fletcher of Vicksburg; five brothers, Donald R. Tillman, Roy Tillman, Joseph K. Tillman, Timothy T. Tillman Sr. and Ronald W. Davis, all of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including the Watson, Mims and Eddins families.
Rebecca Trunell.
Rebecca Trunell died Friday, March 17, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 78.
A homemaker, Mrs. Trunell was a member of Little Zion Christians.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Shorter and Effie Wells-Shorter;.
Survivors include 11 sons, Burnell Bailey, James Smith, Elie Trunell, David Trunell, Michael Trunell, Mason Trunell and Jeff Gibson, all of Fayette, Ul Gibson of Terry, Willie Gibson of Jackson, Grover Trunell of Bloomington, Ill., and Elbert Trunell of Kitzinger, Germany; four daughters, Easter Thomas of Port Gibson, Elaine Powers and Overlee Trunell, both of Vicksburg, and Rachael Dyer of Topeka, Kan.; one sister, Lillian Richardson of Pattison; 33 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Lorman with the Rev. Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Lou W. Nichols Wright.
Lou W. Nichols Wright died Monday, March 20, 2006, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 85.
Born in Chickasaw County, Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and member of Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wright; and her parents, John Wesley Nichols and Lucy A. Henderson; and one brother, Hollis Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, Don Johnson of Vicksburg and Jerry and wife Linday Johnson, both of Water Valley; a longtime friend, companion and care giver, Jim Cox of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 today at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. Ricky Dorrell officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the hour of service today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Vines, Mike Johnson, Frank Johnson, Charles Houston, Ricky Johnson and Jason Cooper.
