Pauline Judge Charles.
WALNUT, Calif. – Pauline “Duck” Judge Charles died Friday, March 24, 2006, in West Covina, Calif. She was 56.
A graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, Mrs. Charles attended Mississippi Valley State University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jeannette Judge; and three brothers, Melvin Judge, Freddie Judge and Clyde Judge.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Charles of Walnut, Calif.; one son, David Charles of Walnut; one daughter, Tammie Charles of Walnut; three brothers, Joe Judge Jr. of Chicago, Edward Charles Judge of Inglewood, Calif., and Kenneth Judge of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Maggie Reese of Detroit, Clementine Jones of Saginaw, Mich., Sadie Judge of Carson, Calif., Rubye Judge of Lawndale, Calif., and Janice Wildee of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Sallie Roberson.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Church of Our Heritage in Covina. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Paul William Dolan.
Paul William Dolan died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 77.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Paul had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 35 years. He was the son of the late Henry Thomas Dolan and Clara Frances Keller Dolan.
Paul was an honor graduate of the University of Buffalo, where he received the bachelor of science degree in business administration. He was a graduate of the U.S. Air Force School of Meterology at Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, Okla.
Paul served seven years in the Air Force as a weather forecaster. During the Korean War era, he was in charge of briefing fighter pilots pertaining to weather conditions prior to their mission.
He was an avid gardener with a love for landscaping, growing vegetables and flowers. Many in Vicksburg and Warren County were recipients of his generosity. Paul was active in civic improvement and beautification.
Paul retired in 1998 from U.S. Rubber Reclaiming Company in Vicksburg as executive vice president of sales and marketing. He was a former member of the American Rubber Group, the Buffalo Rubber Group of Western New York and the American Chemical Society.
Paul was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharist minister and usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 898 and the Vicksburg Elks Lodge No. 95.
Paul William Dolan was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His immediate and extended family were foremost in his life.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Kohl Dolan; three daughters, Maryann D. Artz and her husband, Waverley Artz Jr., both of Vicksburg, Susan E. Williamson and her husband, Donald Williamson, both of Mound, La., and Karen D. Reed and her husband, Robert Reed, both of Pearl; three sons, Paul W. Dolan II and his wife, Aggie Dolan, both of Lakewood, Colo., John T. Dolan and his wife, Gayle Dolan, both of Vicksburg, and James A. Dolan of Vicksburg; six granddaughters, Jenna Patrice Artz, Kelly Ann Dolan, Karen Jessica Williamson, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Williamson, Claire Ashton Trussell and Haley Ann Trussell; four grandsons, Waverley C. Artz III, Sean Michael Dolan, Derek Thomas Dolan and Kohl Russell Williamson; one brother, Dr. Donald R. Dolan of Dansville, N.Y.; one aunt, Marjorie G. Dolan of Buffalo, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Dolan and Patricia Dolan; and two brothers, Charles Dolan and Frank Dolan.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Patrick Farrell, pastor, as celebrant. Father Thomas McGing and Father P.J. Curley will concelebrate the Mass. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday at Riles Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the funeral Mass. The Knights of Columbus Prayers will be at 6:45 p.m., and the wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, P.O. Millie W. Jones.
Millie W. Jones died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.
Ms. Jones was a homemaker and member of Jones Chapel M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Elizabeth Smith Warner; her husband, Aaron Jones; a son, Essell Jones; her brothers, Elijah Warner, Albert Warner and Elias Warner; and her sisters, Adline Everette and Corene Harrell.
Survivors include four sons, Hamilton Jones and Edward Jones, both of Chicago, Lampton Jones of Munster, Ind., and Aaron Jones of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; five daughters, Dorothy Wilson of Washington, D.C., Katie Hendrix of Maywood, Ill., Velma Jones of Chicago and Erma Jones and Annie Jones, both of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Lena Preston Money.
Lena “Mama Lena” Preston Money died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 96.
Mrs. Money was a retired restaurant owner of Lena’s Kitchen formerly in downtown Vicksburg and a member of Calvary M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Courtney Preston; her husband, Thomas Jefferson “Tom” Money Jr.; and two sisters, Mattie Preston and Doris Preston.
Survivors include two daughters, Ramona Latham and Yvonne Simmons, both of Vicksburg; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary M.B. Church with the Rev. Michael Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 tonight at the church.
Marilyn Louise Shannon.
Marilyn Louise Shannon died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 55.
Mrs. Shannon was a native of Sheldon, Ill., and had lived in Vicksburg for three months. She was a certified nursing assistant for nursing homes in Illinois for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Geneva Durflinger Brady; and her sister, Juanita Rasdall.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Hawkins of Vicksburg; six brothers, Rodney Brady of Denver, Ed Brady and Dale Brady, both of Blake Rock, Ark., Larry Brady of Mindenhall, Ill., Howard Brady of Sheldon and Lewis Brady of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Donna Garcia of Casper, Wyo., Peggy Baggett of Nashville, Tenn., and Judy Brady of Sheldon; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Milton Roy Stewart.
ANGUILLA – Milton Roy “Mit” Stewart, age 83, was born in Anguilla, Mississippi on Sept. 3, 1922. After graduating from Anguilla High School, he attended Mississippi State University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner in the “Dauntless” dive bomber. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Anguilla, the Deer Creek Masonic Lodge and a past alderman for the Town of Anguilla. In January 1946, he began 60 years of dedicated service to the Bank of Anguilla, working in both the Rolling Fork and Anguilla offices. He served as teller, bookkeeper, loan officer and executive vice president. He was elected president of the bank in 1976 and served until his retirement from active employment. He continued his service as a director of the bank and was serving as special advisor to the board of directors at the time of his death. Mr. Stewart’s advice was constantly sought after in the management of the bank and in the board of directors’ meetings. His leadership through the years helped to guide the bank through many decades, meeting the needs of generations of South Delta residents.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Norris Stewart; a son, Russell Stewart of Anguilla; one sister, Delilah Hamilton of Ridgeland, Miss.; two grandchildren, Russ Stewart Jr. of Anguilla and Audrey S. Lewis of Memphis; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Cheyenne Stewart of Anguilla.
Mr. Stewart will be remembered as a devoted husband and father who never knew the phrase to “slow down.” He never missed a day visiting the bank. He was active until the afternoon of his illness. He will be remembered as a good friend by all who knew him and all who worked with him. Mr. Stewart passed away March 27, 2006, at University Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Anguilla with the Revs. Brad Moak, Jeff Gilder and Reese Kyzar officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Charlie Turner.
Charlie Turner died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 76.
Mr. Turner was retired from the Warren County Highway Department and a member of King David No. 2 M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mandy Turner Smith, and his sister, Eloise Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Johnson Turner of Vicksburg; three daughters, Betty Craig Brown and Jacqueline Smith, both of Vicksburg, and May Smith of Jackson; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Henderson Williams Jr.
Henderson “Tankum” Williams Jr. died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab. He was 98.
Mr. Williams was a retired employee of Inland Steel Mill in Gary, Ind., and a deacon of Fellowship M.B. Church in Lorman. He was a member of Rodney Lodge No. 267 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Monroe and Henderson Williams Jr.; four sons, Henderson Williams III, Cornelius Williams, Julius Williams and Perry Williams; one daughter, Hazel Mitchell; five brothers, Scott Williams, Floyd Williams, Andrew Williams, James Williams and Frisby Williams; and three sisters, Mary Smith, Ida Smith and Jadie Hicks.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Williams of St. Paul, Minn., and Herman Williams of Gary, Ind.; one daughter, Hester Brown of Vicksburg; one sister, Ella Alexander of California; 39 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
