Services for Jewel Marquiese Dixon were this morning at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home Service.
Jewel, the newborn son of Dewain and Charla Dixon of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
In addition to his parents, Jewel is survived by his twin brother, Jordan Dewain Dixon of Vicksburg; a sister, Camea Sanford of Vicksburg; paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Iris Wells, both of Vicksburg; and maternal grandparents, Edward Webb of Tallulah and Jonelle Rollins of Vicksburg.
Lenny G. Foster.
LAKE CHARLES, La. – Lenny G. Foster died Monday, April 17, 2006, at his home in Lake Charles, La. He was 32.
A native of Vicksburg, Mr. Foster had lived in Lake Charles for the past nine years.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Zelda and Jim Kackley, of Vicksburg; his father, James Foster of Waveland; and his brother Mark Foster of Westlake, La.
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Ozell Hedrick of Vicksburg; a sister, Lanita Foster Johnson of Vicksburg; and his brothers Galan Foster and Ivan Foster, both of Vicksburg.
Lenny was a joy to all who knew and loved him, he will be greatly missed. A memorial service is tentative.

Sandra L. Freeman.
HERMANVILLE – Sandra L. Freeman, age 61, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the University Medical Center in Jackson.
Born in Harrisville, Mrs. Freeman attended high school in Florence. A graduate of Gilfoil School of Nursing, she received a degree in practical nursing and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Southern Mississippi. A former teacher at Gilfoil School of Nursing, she also taught at Hinds Community College for a number of years. She retired from Hinds in 1997 as chairman of the practical nursing program. A resident of Clinton for 30 years, she had lived in Hermanville for the past four years. She was a member of Hermanville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Freeman Sr. of Hermanville; two daughters, Tonya Skrocki of Tyler, Texas, and Sara Neely of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Tommy Freeman Jr. of Hermanville; her mother, Willie Mae Maltby of Florence; four brothers, Jimmy Lewis of Star, Richard Lewis of Hattiesburg, Robert Lewis of Brandon and Steve Lewis of Atlanta; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Wayne Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery in Hermanville. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Skrocki, Phil Lewis, Richard Lewis, Jimmy Lewis, Robert Lewis and Steve Lewis.
Charles Lavelle Kirklin.
Services for Charles Lavelle Kirklin will be today at 2 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chan Osborn de Anaya officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Kirklin died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 63.
Born in Hazlehurst, Mr. Kirklin moved to Vicksburg as a child. He owned and operated Shipley Do-Nut Shops for more than 20 years and Coors Beer Distributorship before retiring four years ago.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Kirklin.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne Luckett Kirklin of Vicksburg; three sons, John Michael Kirklin and Thomas Wesley Kirklin, both of Vicksburg, and Charles Glenn Kirklin of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; his mother, Catherine Farmer Turner and stepfather, Wallace Turner, both of Baton Rouge; a brother, Tyrone Turner of Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kelly, Jody Murphy, Eric Treubel, Joe Gay, Bob Head and Allen Teeter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Barrett, Bo Bryan, Dr. Hildon Sessums, Dr. Michael Davis, Dr. Murray Whitaker, Dr. Hendrik Kuiper, Dr. David Halinsky, ICU nursing staff at River Region Medical Center, Warren County Sheriff’s Department, the staff of River 101, Sonny Mathis and Jimmy Emerson.

David Darnell Mayfield Sr.
David Darnell Mayfield Sr. died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 46.
Mr. Mayfield was a contractor and supervisor at Ergon for 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo Mayfield; and two brothers, Eddie Mayfield and Ernest Mayfield.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Mayfield of Vicksburg; two daughters, Kayla Marie Mayfield and April Elizabeth Mayfield, both of Vicksburg; a son, David Darnell Mayfield Jr., of Vicksburg; his mother, Beatrice Mayfield of Vicksburg; two brothers, Michael Mayfield of Vicksburg and Carl Mayfield of Fontana, Calif.; five sisters, Willie Jean Tucker, Terri Mayfield and Lela Mayfield, both of Vicksburg, Bobbi Cooper of San Fernando, Calif., and Sandra Bingham of Northridge, Calif.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Grace D. Terry.
Grace D. Terry died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 97.
Born in Searcy County, Ark., Mrs. Terry was a former resident of California. She had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 11 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Terry; her parents, Andrew Sanders and Callie Luna Sanders; a sister and four brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Nell M. Guynes of Vicksburg; a son, Eugene Terry of Walkertown, N.C.; and a sister, Pauline George of Heber Springs, Ark.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Ark.
Riles Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.

Freddie L. Williams.
Freddie L. Williams died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 49.
Mr. Williams was a member of St. Luke Freewill Baptist, where he sang in the adult choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Issac Jones and Mary Ollie Williams.
Survivors include his caregiver and cousin, Vivian Baldwin of Vicksburg.
