Annie Mae Bass.
Annie Mae Bass died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 91.
A homemaker, Ms. Bass was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bass Sr. and Clara Ford; a brother, Willie “Buddy Shane” Bass Jr.; and a sister, Lillie R. Haney.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Ann Bass Woods of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Walter Lee Freeman Sr.
Walter Lee “Pee Wee” Freeman Sr. died today, April 25, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 54.
An employee of Cooper Lighting, Mr. Freeman was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Fredrick Freeman; his parents, Ned Freeman and Georgia Washington Freeman; maternal grandparents, George and Fannie Washington; paternal grandparents, Henry and Ollie Freeman; and three brothers, Tommy Lee Freeman, Irving Freeman and Glenn Freeman.
Survivors include a wife, Patricia Scott Freeman of Vicksburg; three sons, Walter Lee Freeman Jr. and Dontay Freeman, both of Vicksburg, and Darryl Anderson of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, George Freeman and Wayne Freeman, both of Vicksburg; three sisters, Dorothy Dee, Velma Williams and Mary Freeman, all of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
James Donald Hearn Sr.
Services for James Donald Hearn Sr. were this morning at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hearn died Friday, April 21, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 65.
A general contractor, Mr. Hearn was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Howell and Wilda Knight Hearn; and two sisters, Shirley Hart and Mary Burditt.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Owsley Hearn of Vicksburg; three sons, James D. Hearn Jr., Pat Hearn and Greg Hearn, all of Vicksburg; one daughter, Debra Conerly of Vicksburg; three brothers, Billy Hearn, Danny Hearn and Roy Hearn, all of Vicksburg; six sisters, Margaret Fleming of South Carolina, Gladys Pettway, Jean Sibley, Wilma Briscoe and Frances Hedricks, all of Vicksburg, and Pansy Dean of Canton; four grandchildren; and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Miles Henley, David Conerly, Mark Conerly, Pat Hearn, Paul Conerly and James Hearn Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert McConnell, Billy Ainsworth, Billy Moore, Danny Walters, Robert Sibley, J.C. Conerly, Todd Flanagan, Robert Johnson, Arville Sizemore and Paul Barrett.

Baby Boy Montgomery.
Baby Boy Montgomery, the infant son of Arsker Frazier Sr. of Utica and Angela M. Montgomery of Vicksburg, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jessie James Montgomery; and paternal grandmother, Ida Lee Frazier.
In addition to his parents, he was survived by two brothers, Arsker Frazier Jr. of Vicksburg and Arsker Fredrico Frazier of Crystal Springs; three sisters, Aliyah Montgomery and Destiny Montgomery, both of Vicksburg, and Tinisha Williams of Crystal Springs; his maternal grandmother, JoAnn Andrews Barnes of Vicksburg; and Leutenant Frazier of Utica.

Helen May Nelson.
LAKE PROVIDENCE – Services for Helen May Nelson, age 90, of Lake Providence will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg. Services will be conducted by her nephew, James Layton Nelson.
Miss Nelson was born June 3, 1915, and passed away April 20, 2006, after a brief illness.
At the outbreak of World War II, Helen joined the Navy and served her country until her retirement on Aug. 21, 1964.
After her retirement, she lived with her parents in Lake Providence and attended University of Louisiana-Monroe, graduating in 1971.
She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend as she devoted her life to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Ollie H. Nelson; two brothers, John W. Nelson and Tom A. Nelson; five sisters, Charlotte Knecht, Hattie Nelson, Selma N. Burton, Adele N. Madison and Ollie N. Butler.
Survivors include two brothers, Brown F. Nelson of Lake Providence and Hyland R. Nelson of Monroe; two sisters, Myrtle N. Toomer of Lake Providence and Grace N. Van Denbourgh of Schenectady, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
Freddie L. Williams.
Services for Freddie L. Williams will be at noon Wednesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luster Lacey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 49.
Mr. Williams was a member of St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church, where he sang in the adult choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Issac Jones and Mary Ollie Williams.
Survivors include his caregiver and cousin, Vivian Baldwin of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including the Pinkney, Carter and Baldwin families of Vicksburg.
