Mary Cagle Ables.
Mary Cagle Ables died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 95.
Born in Braxton, Mrs. Ables lived in Vicksburg for 65 years. A nurse’s aide, she retired from Mercy Hospital in 1975. She was a member of the Loyal Ladies Sunday school class at Woodlawn Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.B. Ables; and a daughter, Marcia Holland.
She is survived by a son, Tommy E. Ables of Vicksburg; a daughter, Betty A. Ettinger of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Campbell will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Trey Ettinger, Jonathon Ettinger, Christopher Ables, Jason Ables, Randy Holland and Kevin Westbrook II.
Honorary pallbearers will be Whitney Dorion, Mark Ettinger, Daniel Ettinger, Mike Ables, Bill Kinstley, Richard Holland, David Gillis, David Mayhall and the nurses of Patient’s Choice Hospice.
Memorials may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church building fund, 2310 Culkin Road, Vicksburg, MS 39183.
Leo Pugh.
Leo “Bud” Pugh died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 75.
Born in Holly Bluff, Mr. Pugh lived in Vicksburg for 47 years. He retired from Miller Transporters Inc. after 37 years.
He was a member of The Local No. 891 and Bradley Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Corine S. Pugh of Vicksburg; a son, Kelly Rhoads of Yazoo City; four daughters, Debbie Harris, Tanyia Holman and Renee Caruthers, all of Vicksburg, and Louise Paige of Edwards; a brother, Billy Ray Pugh of Holly Bluff; a sister, Louise Burlington of Crystal Springs; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Harris, David Harris, Jack Pace, Adam Sullivan, Ted Holman and Jesse Pugh.
