Jane Workman Bodron Buckner.
Jane Workman Bodron Buckner died at her home Tuesday, May 2, 2006. She was 72.
Mrs. Buckner was born in Russellville, Ark., to William and Estelle Martin Workman and was reared in Tallulah.
Mrs. Buckner was a graduate of All Saints’ Episcopal School and Smith College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in music and religion.
She was a retired teacher at Carr Central Junior High School and All Saints’ Episcopal School. She also previously taught piano lessons in her home and owned and operated Hers Ltd. dress shop.
Mrs. Buckner was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by her husband, former Sen. Ellis B. Bodron.
She is survived by her husband, William Ellis Buckner of Vicksburg; a daughter, Helen Estelle Bodron of Washington, D.C.; and a son, Lawrence Ellis Bodron of Vicksburg and Jackson; nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 until the funeral procession departs at 2:30 for Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, where the Rev. Bill Echols, pastor of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be John Collins, Stan Collins, Bill Collins, Bobby Greenlee, Ollie Mohammed and David May.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Pearson, Paul Hogue, Marvin Krinsky and Harry Sharp.
Memorials may be made to the Mississippi School for the Blind, 1252 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS 39211.
Ann W. Green.
HERMANVILLE – Services for Ann W. Green were this morning at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson with the Revs. Donnie Cain and David Harrison officiating. Burial followed at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman.
Mrs. Green died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.
Born in Smith County, Mrs. Green lived most of her life in Hermanville. After 20 years of service, she retired from National Plastic’s Company in Port Gibson. She was a member of Midway Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Larry Green; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Windham; a brother; six sisters; and a grandson, Tyler Segrest.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Green of Hermanville; a son, Dickie Green of Barrington, R.I.; five daughters, Carolyn Starnes of Pattison, Phyllis Pharr, Kathy Tanner and Rits Ardoin, all of Vicksburg, and Sue Segrest of Hermanville; a brother, Lee Windham of Hermanville; a sister, Emily Jo Hynum of Port Gibson; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Will Starnes, Desten Segrest, Kyle Eaton, Heath Purvis, Jessie Green and Emily Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Cassell, Dr. Thomas Sligh and the members of Midway Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to Cane Ridge Cemetery or Midway Church of Christ.
Robert Poe Price.
ROLLING FORK – Robert Poe Price died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 70.
Born in Delta City, Mr. Price had been a resident of Rolling Fork since 1996. Employed with Twin County Power Association, he was a member of Delta City Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Harry Price and Euna T. Price; four brothers, Joe Douglas Spence, Vernon Price, Herbert Price and Herman Price; and a sister, Katrina Price Boykin.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Keever Price of Rolling Fork; two sons, Bob Price and Tom Price, both of Delta City; two daughters, Judy Price Boykin of Mayersville and Suzanne Price Fowler of Pearl; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Delta City Baptist Church in Delta City with the Rev. Nick Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Vicklan Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
