Cleveland Ramsey.
LAS VEGAS – Cleveland “Brady” Ramsey died Saturday, May 6, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was 70.
Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Ramsey worked as an operating engineer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem Brady and Priscilla R. Joyce; and a grandson, Brad Shelby.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Ramsey of Las Vegas; two sons, Clint Young of Vicksburg and Tony Ross of Las Vegas; 12 daughters, Marisa J. Jackson of Moss Point, Melba Davis of Vicksburg, Janice Shelby, Beatrice Nichols, Marisa R. Malone, Yvonne Simms, Michellette Brown, Michelle Ross, Valerie Williams, Latonva Watts, Clarissa Davis and Chelsea Davis, all of Las Vegas; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Missionary Baptist Church in Las Vegas. Burial will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Bunkers Mortuary Chapel.
Jackie Lee Ramshur.
Jackie “Jack” Lee Ramshur died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 57.
Born in Greenville, Miss., Mr. Ramshur was born to the late Albert Green Ramshur and Cora Lee Hammond Ramshur. He was a resident of Vicksburg for the past five years. Retiring from the U.S. Army, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Moose Lodge and Mound Baptist Church in Mound.
Survivors include a sister, Dianna Kuhn; two brothers, Gene Ramshur of Pleasanton, Kan., and Junior Ramshur of Moberly, Mo.; and other relatives, including Nathan D. Kuhn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Crystal Springs Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Reddick, Mackey Taylor, Davin West, Junior Brown, Christopher Brown and John C. Watts Jr.
Patricia Banks Scott.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Patricia Banks Scott died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at her home in Kansas City, Mo. She was 68.
Born in Kansas City to Eddie Lee Frith and Frances Williams, Mrs. Scott was a longtime employee of Newberry Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hortense Robinson.
Survivors include her husband, John L. Scott of Kansas City; three sons, Bryant Frith, Kevin Banks and Kerry Banks, all of Kansas City; three daughters, Pamela Banks Jones of Vicksburg, Carolyn Banks and Jacqueline Banks, both of Kansas City; four grandchildren; and other cousins and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Watkins Brothers Memorial Chapel in Kansas City. Visitation will be from 9 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
