COLUMBUS, Miss. – Services for Clara Pearson King Dennis were this morning at the University Baptist Church under the direction of Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.

Mrs. Dennis died Sunday, March 14, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Miss. She was 83.

She was a member of University Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Perry Brooks Dennis III.

Survivors include her husband, Perry Brooks Dennis Jr. of Columbus; two sons, Robert Dennis of Lake Charles, La., and Randy Dennis of Columbus; a sister, Emma King Phillips of Brandon; a brother, Robert W. King of Jackson; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Billie Reed.

PORT GIBSON – Billie Reed died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 51.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxie Sr. and Marie Banks-Brown; six brothers, Melvin Brown, Fred Sylvester Brown, Newton Brown, Bennie Brown, Sam Brown and Maxie Brown Jr.; and a sister, Florence Ellis.

Survivors include her husband, Bennie Reed of Port Gibson; five brothers, John P. Brown and Tommy Brown, both of New London, Conn., David Brown of Lorman, Bob Brown of Longview, Texas and Johnny Brown of Hermanville; two sisters, Lula M. Williams of Old Lyme, Conn., and Viola Moore of Hermanville; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Ernest Wilcher officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at the church.

Angel Nakiya Smith.

Angel Nakiya Smith, infant daughter of Anthony Terrell Smith and Nadia Galtney, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at River Region Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Abe and Earline Smith.

In addition to her parents she is survived by a brother, Kenneth Kaleel Galtney of Vicksburg; a sister, Nadajah Sherrell Smith of Vicksburg; her maternal grandmother, Mary Galtney of Vicksburg; and her maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Ruth Nixon of Vicksburg.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial followed under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.

Bobbie Stamps.

Bobbie Stamps died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 39.

A manager at KFC in Vicksburg, Ms. Stamps was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mozella Hamlin-Stamps; and a son, De’Marcus Claiborne.

Survivors include two sons, Darrius Stamps and Charleston Stamps, both of Vicksburg; a daughter, Cierra Claiborne of Vicksburg; her father, Willie Lee Stamps of Port Gibson; five brothers, Melvin Hamlin of Pattison, Lee Dell Stamps of Vicksburg, Mack A. Stamps of Russum, Leroy Stamps of Tillman and Clifton Stamps of Alaska; three sisters, Rosie Stamps and Brenda Stamps, both of Vicksburg, and Adrienne Stamps of Port Gibson; a grandchild; and other relatives and friends, including Timothy Allen Wilson and Leroy Claiborne, both of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Waterloo M.B. Church in Lorman, with the Rev. Jonathan Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. Saturday until the hour of service at the church.
