JACKSON – Eddie Gray died Monday, May 22, 2006, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 46.

Born and raised in Vicksburg, Mr. Gray attended Warren Central High School. An electronics repairman, he had lived in Jackson for the past 25 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Bennie May.

Survivors include three brothers, John Gray and Jimmy Gray, both of Vicksburg, and Tommy Gray of Madison; four sisters, Shirley Rogers of Monticello, Patricia Owens of Madison, Brenda Hensarling of Ridgeland and Marcia Saulters of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Chip Starnes officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Alberta Benard Sanders.

COMPTON, Calif. – Alberta Benard &#8220Mut” Sanders died Friday, May 19, 2006, at her home in Compton, Calif. She was 71.

Mrs. Sanders was a former resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James &#8220Pigeon” Williams and Mernevia &#8220Bess” Gaskin Williams; a brother, Willie James Williams; a sister, Johnnie Mae Williams; two sons, Patrick Benard and Willie Benard Jr.; two daughters, Josephine Benard and Kimberly Benard; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include six sons, Derrick Benard, Donnie Benard, Dwight Benard, James Benard, Joe Curtis Benard and Kevin Benard, all of Compton; a daughter, Karen Benard of Compton; two sisters, Maggie Fisher of Compton and Patricia Williams of Vicksburg; four brothers, Arthur &#8220Killer” Williams and Richard Charles &#8220Tootsie” Williams, both of Vicksburg, George Williams and Ray Williams, both of Aurora, Ill.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives, including the Benard, Erves, Fisher, Gaskin, Hill, Prentiss, Turner, Watts and Wilson families, all of Vicksburg.

Forest Lawn Mortuary in Long Beach, Calif., has charge of arrangements.

Alice Ruth Cage Walker.

Alice Ruth Cage Walker died Monday, May 22, 2006, at her home. She was 66.

A homemaker, Mrs. Walker was a member of the Baha’i faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Walker; and her parents, William Price and Zola Cage.

She is survived by three sons, Freddie Walker Jr., Whitzey Walker and Derrin Walker Sr., all of Vicksburg.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
