Robert Curtis “Blinky” Gale died Friday, May 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 47.
Mr. Gale had worked at Port Cargo Service in New Orleans for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Gale Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Ella Mae Gale of Vicksburg; two sons, Dewayne Milton and Gephsemane Milton, both of New Orleans; one daughter, Denise Colbert of New Orleans; four brothers, J.C. Gale Jr. of Memphis, William Gale of Vicksburg, Wayne Gale of Jackson and Chris Gale of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Cheryl G. Simpson of Vicksburg and Joyce Gale of San Bernardino, Calif.

Martha Conner Glasco.
Martha Conner Glasco died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 78.
Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Glasco resided in Vicksburg and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sim Glasco; her parents, Mitchell and Tallulah Conner; a sister, Nancy Conner Austin; and three brothers, Isaiah Conner, Sam Conner and William Conner.
Survivors include a daughter, Millie Ann Richardson of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Arthur James Conner and John Michael Davis, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Roberta Conner Griffin of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives, including members of the Griffin, Conner and Davis families.

Lottie Mae Grady.
Services for Lottie Mae Grady were this morning at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elijah Brown officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Grady died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at her home. She was 89.
A homemaker, Mrs. Grady was born in Warren County. She was a member of Grove Street M.B. Church, where she was a former member of the Mother’s Board, Usher Board and Silver Moon No. 41 O.E.S.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Grady Sr.; five brothers, Robert Walker, Adam Walker, Joseph Walker, Julius Walker and Percy Walker; a sister, Katie Walker; and her parents, Major Walker and Laura Ellis Walker.
She is survived by a son, Harry Grady Jr. of Vicksburg; four daughters, Virginia Grady and Irene Brown, both of Vicksburg, Katie Grady of Memphis and Bernadine Cunnigan of Rhode Island; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including the Walker, Straughter, Ellis, Frazier, Maxwell and Williams families of Vicksburg.
Johnnie Mae Kelly.
ANGUILLA – Johnnie Mae Kelly died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 57.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by her mother, Josephine Kelly of Anguilla; four sons, Leroy Kelly and Willie Kelly, both of Bloomington, Ill., David Kelly of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Terry Kelly of Sumter, S.C.; four brothers, Willie Kelly of Greenville, James Kelly of Anguilla, Eugene Kelly of Baton Rouge and Joseph Kelly of Elyria, Ohio; three sisters, Josephine Johnson of Chicago, Minnie Banks of Las Vegas and Ruthie Kelly of Anguilla; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla with the Rev. H.C. Hagler officiating. Burial will follow at Cynthia Diana Cemetery.
Allen Mason Jr.
Allen Mason Jr. died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 68.
Mr. Mason was a member of Holly Grove M.B. Church and Elks Lodge of Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irena Mason and Allen Mason Sr.
Survivors include four daughters, Deloris Lewis and Tammie Mason, both of Vicksburg, Jackie M. Cobbins of Jackson and Vanessa McFeh of Tallulah; two sons, Allen Mason III of Vicksburg and Garry Mason of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including the Cornor, Lee, Austin and Gardner families of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Robert Lewis Pirches.
Robert Lewis Pirches died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 81.
A native of Neptune, N.J., Mr. Pirches was a resident of Vicksburg for 54 years. He worked as a draftsman for Bendly Aviation Corp. in Red Bank, N.J., and later as chief draftsman for Electronic Associates Inc. in Long Branch, N.J. He also led the design and manufacture of Ezec-Mech devices before serving as a procurement officer in the production of An/VRC Radio equipment. He was equipment analyst at Aberdeen Proving Ground for the Biological Defense Branch. He transferred to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, where he worked as an electromechanical designer until his retirement in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary E. Kirk Pirches.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Virginia Pirches of Vicksburg; and a half-brother, William Kirk of Farmingdale, N.J.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Acres Cemetery with Dr. Frank Lescallette officiating.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Richard Marble, Don Marble, Joe Key, Robert McClure, David Myers and Dennis Butler.

Manuel Ripoll.
LONG BEACH – Manuel “Rip” Ripoll died Thursday, May 25, 2006, in Long Beach. He was 68.
Born in New Orleans, Mr. Ripoll was a former Vicksburg resident and had lived on the Gulf Coast for 26 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Long Beach. He had served in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgilio and Hilda Blazio Ripoll; a son, Manuel Ripoll Jr.; a grandson, Jonathan Amacker; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Reed.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Ripoll of Long Beach; five daughters, Lisa Russ of Jackson, Gina Savage of Dallas, Kristi Ripoll of Mandeville, La., Lisa Ryan of Lacombe, La., and Candi Williams Husley of Saucier; two sons, Mitchell Ripoll of Mandeville and Kenneth Ripoll of Albany, La.; a brother, Anthony Ripoll of Metairie, La.; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Melrose Baptist Church Cemetery in Bentonia.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.

Anne T. Stoddard died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 62.
Born in Memphis, Mrs. Stoddard had lived in Vicksburg for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Stoddard of Vicksburg; one son, Mark S. Stoddard of Brandon; two daughters, Stacey Murphy of Lakeland, Fla., and Ettie D. Waters of Vicksburg; a brother, Bobby C. Terhune of North Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Ginger S. Terhune of Vicksburg and Millie T. Davis of Simpsonville, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service.
Memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
James Waits.
James Waits died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 91.
Mr. Waits was a member of the Salvation Army Church and Paragon Masonic Lodge No. 7. He was retired from the Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Waits; his parents, Robert Waits and Nellie Hawkins; three sisters, Bobbie Lee Waits, Eva Yeager and Lucy Smith; and a brother, Robert Waites Jr.
Survivors include two sisters, Theresa Sanders of San Matel, Calif., and Magnora Benson of Duncanville, Texas; two brothers, Walter Waites of Duncanville and Horace Waites of Dallas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including members of the Clark, Hawkins, Peaches and Smith families.

Alice Ruth Cage Walker.
Services for Alice Ruth Cage Walker will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker died Monday, May 22, 2006, at her home. She was 66.
Born in Yazoo County, Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of the Baha’i faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Walker; and her parents, William Price and Zola Cage.
She is survived by three sons, Freddie Walker Jr., Whitzey Walker and Derrin Walker Sr., all of Vicksburg.
