Charles Edward Hall Sr.
Services for Charles Edward “Poochie” Hall Sr. will be at 1 p.m. today at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie White officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hall died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Rayville Nursing home in Rayville, La. He was 62.
Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Hall had worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mat Sinking Unit. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had served in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Callie Hall Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Wilson Hall of Vicksburg; two daughters, Charletta J. Hall of Vicksburg and Stephanie Hall Rodriguez of Victorville, Calif.; two sons, Charles Edward Hall Jr. and Patrick Lamon Hall, both of Vicksburg; a stepson, Terrence Washington of Flowood; nine grandchildren; and other relatives, including members of the Hall, Wilson and Strong families of Vicksburg.

PASCAGOULA – Norman Dwight Patterson died Saturday, June 3, 2006, in Pascagoula. He was 67.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Pascagoula with Dr. Rex Yancey and the Revs. Dennis Ray Smith and Sam Jones officiating. Burial with military honors followed at Jackson County Memorial Park under the direction f O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Don Barron, Phil Guhl, Gary Holland, Pat Watts, John Wilkinson and Dennis Wood.
Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of First Baptist Church.
Mr. Patterson was born in South Lowell, Ala., and graduated from Stephen D. Lee High School in Columbus. He received his bachelor of science degree and master’s degree in education from Mississippi State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He taught for 39 years with both the Pascagoula and Mobile County school districts. He coached football, basketball and track at Colmer Middle School and was a member of the Mississippi Education Association.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pascagoula, where was a deacon, a member of the chancel and senior adult choirs and was a Royal Ambassador leader.
Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.N. Patterson, and two infant brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Rachael Loewenberg Patterson, formerly of Vicksburg; three sons, Dwight Patterson of Richardson, Texas, Craig Patterson of Moss Point and Bradley Patterson of Alpharetta, Ga.; a sister, Wyladean Gallacher of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a brother, Nathan Patterson of Scottsboro, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Pascagoula or to the American Cancer Society.
