Beverly Rankins Armstead.

PASCAGOULA – Services for Beverly Rankins Armstead will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Mount Zion M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Armstead died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Miss. She was 57.

A 1966 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, Mrs. Armstead was a former secretary of Lucy C. Jefferson High School. She was employed with Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and a former member of New Mount Zion M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Rankins and Rosie Lee Smith Rankins; maternal grandparents, Lawson and Nellie Smith; and paternal grandfather, Johnnie Rankins.

Survivors include her husband, Ary Armstead of Pascagoula; two sisters, Velma R. Wilson and Patsy Speed, both of Vicksburg; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Lance Cpl. Derrick Deon Collins.

Services for Lance Cpl. Derrick Deon Collins will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cool Spring M.B. Church, 385 Falk Steel Road, with the Rev. Byron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Cpl. Collins died Monday, June 12, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 21.

A Vicksburg native, Cpl. Collins was a 2004 graduate of Warren Central High School. He was serving in the Marine Corps. He was a member of Cool Spring M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John A. Collins Jr.; and his paternal grandfather, Pete Smith.

Survivors include his mother, Annie E. Collins of Woodbridge, Va.; his father, Kenneth Jolly of Vicksburg; one sister, Andra Collins of Woodbridge; his maternal grandmother, Sylvia W. Collins of Vicksburg; his paternal grandmother, Pearl Smith of Vicksburg; and aunts and uncles.

Ramerian Evette Green.

Ramerian Evette Green, infant daughter of Delvin A. Green and Latoya Clark, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Randy Clark and Raymond Clark, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Raymona Clark of Vicksburg; maternal grandparents, Laura Clark, Howard Oliver and Kathy Slyvester Tatum, all of Vicksburg; paternal grandmother, Paula Lyons of Vicksburg; maternal great-grandmother, Nancy Tatum of Vicksburg; paternal great-grandparents, Arthur Green Jr. and Delphine Ester Green, both of Vicksburg; paternal great-great-grandmother, Susie B. Smith of Vicksburg; other relatives and friends.

Betty Jo Hicks Hilderbrand.

Betty Jo &#8220Josie” Hicks Hilderbrand died Tuesday June 13, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident in Vicksburg. She was 33.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Hilderbrand was a graduate of Vicksburg High School. A full time mother, Josie had worked for the Warren County supervisors for six years as an accountant clerk. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Mullins.

Survivors include two sons, James Sadler Hilderbrand and John Dustin Hilderbrand, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Lacey Alexandria Williams and Evie Hilderbrand, both of Vicksburg; her mother, Betty Hicks of Vicksburg; her father, James Hicks of Vaiden, Miss.; two brothers, Jimmy Hicks of Houston and Joey Hicks of Youngsville, La.; three sisters, Tammy Smith, Debbie Griffith and husband, Ricky, all of Vicksburg, and Peggy Lauresdroft of Houston; two nieces, a nephew, a great-niece and a great-nephew.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Creswell, pastor of Berachah Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Marc Lelonek, Chris Eldridge, Curry Meeks, Geoff Eiff, Charles Massey and Sando Newell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Griffith, Timmy Jolly, James Hunt, Tim Hunt, Chad Massey, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Warren County Employees.

Bernice Lowe.

Services for Bernice Lowe will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lowe died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

Born in Yazoo City, Mrs. Lowe was a retired grocery store owner. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Lowe Sr.; her parents, Edward Sr. and Mary Walker; a brother, Edward Walker Jr.; and two sisters, Velma White and Sorena Morris.

She is survived by a son, Harrison Lowe Jr. of Vicksburg; three granddaughters; and other relatives.

Larry D. Reed.

DALLAS – Larry D. Reed died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at his home in Dallas, Texas. He was 48.

Mr. Reed was a former resident of Vicksburg.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Reed; two sons, Darly Kelly and Darrton &#8220Pooh” Allen; two daughters, Jazzma Reed and Tawana Beuham; his parents, Walter Sr. and Annie Lee Reed; four sisters, Barbara Nailor, Debra Rosser, Elizabeth Holmes and Cathy Reed; brothers, Walter Reed Jr. and Paul Reed; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends including, the Reed, Walker, Kelley, Johnson, Williams, Bowman and Lewis families of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel M.B. Church in Vicksburg with the Rev. Mack Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Martha C. Reese.

CENTREVILLE – Martha C. Reese, 90, of Centreville, died June 4, 2006, at her home.

Services were noon Saturday at Community Baptist Full Gospel Fellowship Church. The Rev. Lester C. Reese officiated. Burial was at the church cemetery. Craft Funeral Home of McComb handled arrangements.

Ms. Reese was born Aug. 10, 1915, to Lester and Martha Jackson in Norwood, La.

She was educated in the Centreville public school system.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters, Celie Jackson Reese, Annie Jackson Montgomery, Lelon Jackson Williams, Minnie Lee Jackson Anderson, Mary Howard, Missy Bailey and Georgia Jackson; and four brothers, Lester, Emmitt, Harry and Mitchell Jackson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Eli Reese; one son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Lester and Martha Ella Reese of Centreville; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Alma and Jessie Davis of Castro Valley, Calif., Philimener Seiber, Jenetter and Rettie Jefferson, and Flora Diana and Henry Hamilton, all of New Orleans, Wilmer and Benny Terrell Sr. of Vicksburg, and Elizabeth and Earnest Newman of Centreville; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Lillie Jackson of Centreville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and James Tobias of Richmond, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Mrs. Reese’s grandsons, Benny Terrell Jr., Bryson Thomas, Dewayne Newman, Jamie Hamilton, the Rev. Jessie Davis Jr., the Rev. Paul Davis and Terrell Seiber.

Louis Williams.

Louis Williams died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the home of his niece in Redwood. He was 96.

Mr. Williams was born at Ballground and was a retired porter with Wabash Railroad. He was also a veteran of the Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church in Ballground.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers, George Young, Clarence Young and Joseph Williams; and five sisters, Pazetta Sadberry, Alberta Jeffery, Aquilla Moore Harris, Luberta Hawkins and Isabel Brown.

Mr. Williams is survived by one sister, Rosie Cannon of Detroit; and other relatives, including Earl Jeffery of Ballground and the Hurd, Jeffery, Johnson, Bulie, Reed, Whitley, Brown, Williams, Hawkins and Sadberry families.
