Arthur Edward Sparling.
TALLULAH – Arthur Edward Sparling died Friday, June 16, 2006, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. He was 78.
Born in Little Rock, Ark., Mr. Sparling was a resident of Tallulah. Having graduated from Louisiana State University of Law and Naval Justice Schools, he served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Law Review and Gamma Eta Gamma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Sparling; and a sister, Nancy Sparling Burkhardt.
Survivors include two nephews, Charles Burkhardt of Starkville and Richard Burkhardt of Columbus; and other relatives, including E.C. Burkhardt of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Frank Lee Robinson.
Frank Lee “Frankie” Robinson died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 89.
Mr. Robinson was retired from Mercy Hospital. He was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Collins Robinson; three sons, Charlie Lee Robinson, Edward G. Robinson and Charles Nichols; and a brother, Isaac Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Edmonia Robinson of Vicksburg; four daughters, Claudia Blake, Daisy Wilson and Marjorie Stokes, all of Lansing, Mich., and Linda McCoy of Vicksburg; a son, John Robertson of Marshall, Mich.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. Monday until the hour of service at the funeral home.
