David &#8220Lamp” Butler died today, June 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center, He was 68.

Mr. Butler retired from Anderson-Tully as a maintenance worker. He was a member of St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Montana Mosley Butler; a sister, Ernestine Younger; and his grandparents, Evelyn and Ed Mosley.

He is survived by his wife, Elvira Figguers Butler of Vicksburg; one son, Freddie Butler of Vicksburg; one daughter, Roenia Gleese Deloach of Savannah, Ga.; three sisters, Gladys &#8220Doll” Butler and Elizabeth &#8220Sue” Butler, both of Vicksburg, and Erma Chamberles of Los Angeles; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Louis Williams.

Services for Louis Williams will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion M.B. Church at Ballground with the Rev. Charlie Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from noon Wednesday until the hour of service at the church.

Mr. Williams died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the home of his niece in Redwood. He was 96.

Mr. Williams was born at Ballground and was a retired porter with Wabash Railroad. He was also a veteran of the Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church in Ballground.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers, George Young, Clarence Young and Joseph Williams; and five sisters, Pazetta Sadberry, Alberta Jeffery, Aquilla Moore Harris, Luberta Hawkins and Isabel Brown.

Mr. Williams is survived by one sister, Rosie Cannon of Detroit; and other relatives, including Earl Jeffery of Ballground and the Hurd, Jeffery, Johnson, Bulie, Reed, Whitley, Brown, Williams, Hawkins and Sadberry families.
