Annie Armstrong.
Annie “Candy” Armstrong died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at her home. She was 82.
Mrs. Armstrong was retired from the Vicksburg Warren School District. She was a member of Shiloh M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harrison Goldsberry Sr.; her mother, Emma Ward Goldsberry; her husband, Eddie Armstrong; one daughter, Emma Armstrong Bolden; a sister, Laura Chambers; and a brother, James Goldsberry Sr.
Survivors include six daughters, Rosie Armstrong of Joliet, Ill., and Dorothy Armstrong, Olivia Armstrong, Brenda Armstrong Banks, Jessie Armstrong and Mary Armstrong Gusta, all of Vicksburg; three sons, Claiborn Armstrong and Kevin Armstrong, both of Vicksburg, and Rory Armstrong of Princeton, Texas; five sisters, Laura Tarleton, Efna Tillman, Diane Rankin, Bobbie Harried and Loretta Ryals; five brothers, Harrison Goldsberry, Donald Goldsberry, Willie Goldsberry, James Goldsberry and the Rev. Gerald Goldsberry; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
James Melton Samuel.
CLINTON – James Melton Samuel died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 66.
Mr. Samuel was the son of the late John and Grace Samuel. He was a Clinton resident.
He attended Summer Hill High School, where he was a member of the football and basketball teams. He worked for Ryder Truck Co. for a number of years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Benson and Grace Samuel; and two brothers, John Samuel Jr. and Willie R. Samuel.
He is survived by a son, James E. Samuel of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Lebertha Samuel of Chicago and Julia Thomas of Jackson; five brothers, Alonzo Samuel and Clyde Samuel, both of Clinton, Eugene Samuel of Broadview, Ill., Bernard Samuel of Alexandria, Va., and Henry Samuel of Chicago; one granddaughter; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Green M.B. Church in Clinton with the Rev. Darrel McQuirter officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service.
Jada Danielle Turner.
Jada Danielle Turner, infant daughter of Jason and Tamla Turner of Vicksburg, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at River Region Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Jadon Larry Turner; and aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
