Earlean Green.

ROLLING FORK – Earlean Green died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 67.

Ms. Green retired from Friend of the Children’s Head Start Center in Mayersville after 30 years.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Lee and Carl Green, both of Rolling Fork; two daughters, Patricia Ann Warren of Greenville and Lenora Green of Greenville, N.C.; four sisters, Celeste Bredley and Herdicyne Robinson, both of Chicago, Mary Nowling of Houston and Clara Caldwell of Rolling Fork; eight grandchildren; and two-great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at South Delta High School with the Rev. Homer Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Hugh Williams Jr.

Hugh Williams Jr. died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 87.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Seven Star M.B. Church in Utica with the Rev. Phillip Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 7:30 this evening at Randle and Hays Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson.

Lucille Pickett.

PORT GIBSON – Lucille Pickett died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 83.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Maybell Weathersby-Pickett; a daughter, Margaret Pickett; three sisters, Luna Hillary, Clara Bonds and Rosie L. Liggans; two brothers, Ralph Pickett and Edward Pickett; and a granddaughter, Lucille R. Hillary.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Frances Pickett of Port Gibson; a son, Cecil E. Pickett of Port Gibson; four brothers, Oliver Pickett of Northbrook, Ill., Oscar Pickett of Ocean Springs, Arthur Pickett and Otis &#8220O.D.” Pickett, both of Meadville; a sister, Guynell Pickett of Meadville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Come and See Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and from 2 p.m. Sunday until the hour of service at the church.

Charles James Ross.

Services for Charles James &#8220Pipe” Ross will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Triumph Church, 136 Honeysuckle Lane. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Ross died Monday, July 17, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 60.

Mr. Ross worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for 20 years and at Faulk’s Farm & Garden for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Middleton; his mother, Beatrice Ross Young; his stepfather, Isom Young; and a brother, Altonia Davis Jr.

He is survived by two brothers, Tommy Lee Davis of Vicksburg and Lloyd Middleton of New York, N.Y.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Ross, Davis and Middleton families.

Ernest O. Whitaker.

Ernest O. &#8220Buddy” Whitaker died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at River Regional Medical Center. He was 85.

A lifelong resident of Redwood, Mr. Whitaker was the son of the late Clarence and Cora Hall Whitaker. A World War II veteran, he served in the Air Force. In 1983, he retired from Mississippi Power & Light Company as an equipment operator after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Redwood United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester B. Whitaker, Clint Whitaker and Felix Whitaker; and two sisters, Jessie McCarty and Ione Bramblett.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Whitaker of Redwood; three sons, Stanley Whitaker, Clarence Whitaker and wife, Betty Eich, all of Vicksburg, and Timothy Whitaker and wife, Melba, of Lakeland, Fla.; three grandsons, Wesley Whitaker and wife, Sherry, of Vicksburg, Scott Whitaker and wife, Michelle, of Only, Va., and Eric Whitaker of Lakeland; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gussie Jennings of Ocean Springs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Hite of Redwood United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Keen, Richard Martin, Doug Jeter, Ray Sanderson, Bubba Hanks and Tommy Lee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Martin, Herman Schneider, Walter Whatley, Walker Goza, Marvin Miller, Irma Howard Hinston, Randy Sherard, Jim Bramblett and Buddy Whatley.

Julia Hunt-Wilson.

PORT GIBSON – Julia Hunt-Wilson died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson. She was 85.

She was a member of Magnolia M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Wilson; and her parents, Charles and Minnie Dixon-Hunt.

She is survived by seven sons, Alfred Wilson Jr., Carl Wilson and Eddie Wilson, all of Chicago, Johnnie Wilson, Soloman Wilson, Larry Wilson and Raymond Wilson, all of Port Gibson; three daughters, Barbara Johnson of Port Gibson, Agnes Wilson of Washington, D.C., and Catherine Neil of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Minnie Murray of Los Angeles and Annie Hamlin of Milwaukee, Wisc.; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
