Jimmy Devone Ezell Sr.

TALLULAH – Jimmy Devone Ezell Sr. died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 64.

Born in Crowville, La., Mr. Ezell lived most of his life in Tallulah as a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Devone Ezell Jr.

He is survived by a son, Bo Kidrick of Tallulah; four daughters, Tina Ford of Glen Allen, Debra Simms of Transylvania, Benita Purvis and Lana Clack, both of Tallulah; a brother, Freddy G. Ezell of Tallulah; a special companion, Elaine Dickerson of Tallulah; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and other relatives, including James Ezell of St. Martinville, La.

Services will be at 10 this morning at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Ogden, Bobby Ezell, Tilford Watts, Billy Ray Hodge, Billy Brown and Jeremy Clack.

Arcenia Pierce.

Arcenia Pierce died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 92.

Mrs. Pierce was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall and a domestic worker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pierce; her parents Sam and Marylizzie Allen Gray; a son, Willie Gray; brothers Sam Gray, Ruben Gray, Porter Gray and Governor Gray; sisters Mae Hannah Gray, Leola Clar and Oleavie Stewart.

She is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives including the Gray, McDaniels and Stewart families of Fayette, Utica, Vicksburg and Michigan.
