Services for Rubye Lee Jones will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Travelers Rest M.B. Church with the Rev. Thomas Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 tonight at Williams Funeral Service Chapel.

Mrs. Jones died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 76.

Mrs. Jones retired from Old Southern Tea Room after 27 years of service. She received the restaurant manager of the year award in 1984. She was a member of Travelers Rest M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Carl Richard Jones; her parents, H.A. and Iran McAfee; and a daughter, Havana Ann McCary.

She is survived by a brother, James Rowe of Chicago; two grandchildren; godchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Rosie L. Goodman of Vicksburg.

Christopher Shaw Rucker.

EL PASO, Texas – Memorial services for Christopher Shaw Rucker, 43, formerly of Lorman, Miss., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fayette Methodist Church. He passed away on January 27, 2006, at his home in El Paso, Texas.

Chris was born on January 29, 1962, to Emmett Rucker and Nancy Shaw Green Rucker in Clinton, Okla. He was a graduate of Trinity High School in Natchez and Mississippi State University with a degree in chemical engineering. His interests included raising tropical fish and scuba diving. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was employed by Western Refining of El Paso.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas Shaw Rucker and wife, Angie Rucker, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Sally L. Sparrow of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Claude Rucker and Ernest Rucker, both of Port Gibson; a nephew, Allen Himes; three nieces, Andria Rucker, Laurie Rucker and Leigh Rucker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association.
