Ralph Lewis Ables.

Ralph Lewis Ables died Sunday. Aug. 27, 2006, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. He was 71.

Born in Harrell, Ark., Mr. Ables lived in Camden, Ark., and Reedsport, Ore., and had been a Vicksburg resident since 1980. He retired as a millwright from International Paper after 47 years of service.

He was preceded in death by a wife, Clydell Ables; and a daughter, Vickie Ables.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Ables of Vicksburg; two daughters, Anne Haskell of Salem, Ore., and Dawn Almond of Brandon; one brother, Edward Ables of Salem; four sisters, Pauline Smith of Pine Bluff, Ark., Jane Frey of Cabot, Ark., Ruby Sloan of Camden and Erma Johnson of Prentiss; five grandchildren; and other relatives, including Ada Mahan of Camden.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Ferreolus D’Cruz officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda Cemetery in Camden.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mary Anna Powers Maddox.

JACKSON – Mary Anna Powers Maddox died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 95.

Mrs. Maddox was the daughter of the Robert S. and Maggie Newsome Powers of Jackson. She was a longtime office manager for Dr. Hardy Woodridge and a 20-year volunteer at River Oaks Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Maddox Jr.; a sister, Julia P. Thornton; and five brothers, Rufus Powers, E.R. Powers, George B. Powers, Cecil Powers and Richard Powers.

She is survived by nephews, including Robert Powers of Greenwood; and nieces, including Frances Antoine and Jean Abraham, both of Vicksburg, Mexie Goodreau of Thomasville, Ala., Ruth Ann Lloyd of Greenville, S.C., and Mary Elizabeth Hunter of Wharton, Texas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Charles Antoine, Terry Antoine, Tommy Antoine, Jake Kilburn, Matt Kilburn and Dwayne Liggett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Smith and Dr. Walter Johnston Jr.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Carolyn Sue Wiginton Massey.

Carolyn Sue Wiginton Massey died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 62.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Lyle Hugh Massey; and her parents, Foy Lee and Evelyn Sue Nesbit Wiginton.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar Marshall Massey II of Vicksburg; two daughters, Cora Sue Massey and Elwanda Kay Modlin of Corinth; two sons, Virgil Lee Massey and Edgar Marshall Massey III, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Martha Wiginton of Mantachie; two brothers, Roy Lee Wiginton of Hawaii and Frank Preston Wiginton of Mooreville; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie with the Rev. Tracy McMillen officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Tremont, Miss.

Visitation will be from 7 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steven Modlin, David Modlin, Michael Modlin, Jayson Harris, Frank Wiginton and Charles Massey.

Margie Jean Page.

Margie Jean Page died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 82.

Born in Galena, Kan., Mrs. Page had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 32 years. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Redden and Amanda Jane Haynes Redden. A graduate of Galena High School, she received an LPN degree from Hinds School of Nursing. She was employed at Mercy Regional Medical Center for many years. She was a member of Red Carpet Sams Camping Club. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers, George Redden, Wally Redden and Ralph Redden; and a sister, Bessie Hayward.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Burford J. Page Jr. of Vicksburg; three daughters, Marsha Beard of Winterhaven, Fla., Betsy Wildschuetz of Florissant, Mo., and Anne Page of Vicksburg; two sons, Burford J. Page III of Olive Branch, Miss., and Christopher Page of Florissant; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with Hancell Bankester, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service at the church. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 3005 Porters Chapel Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180 or Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society, Post Office Box 820171, Vicksburg, MS 39182.

Pallbearers will be Burford Page III, Christopher Page, Jay Page, Robert Wildschuetz, Michael Wildschuetz, James Beard and Craig Helmuth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Walter Johnston, the staff of Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg and the members of the Red Carpet Sams Camping Club.
