Arnetta Zenobia Thomas Brengettcy.

MEMPHIS – Services for Arnetta Zenobia Thomas Brengettcy were June 30, 2006, at Mount Olive C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Stevey Wilburn officiating. Burial followed under the direction of R.S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brengettcy died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was 60.

A native of Vicksburg, Mrs. Brengettcy was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and Alcorn State University. Employed with the Memphis Health Center for 20 years, she worked as a business education teacher at Glenn Allen High School and administrative assistant to various judges and attorneys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Thomas and Mable Thomas.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Brengettcy; a sister, Dorothy Thomas Crook of Memphis; and other relatives, including Lewis and Bessie Walton of Vicksburg.

Decator Freeman.

TALLULAH – Decator Freeman died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport. He was 78.

Born in Mound, Mr. Freeman was a resident of Haynesville, La., and had lived most of his life in Tallulah. He was a veteran of the Air Force and was a retired diesel mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Janey Freeman of Haynesville; two daughters, Sharron J. Ritzell and Mary Helen White, both of Haynesville; a brother, Rayford Freeman of Homer, La.; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. Tee Don White officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the funeral home until the service.

James Lewis.

ROLLING FORK – James Lewis died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Holmes-Humphreys Regional Medical Center. He was 74.

Formerly of Rolling Fork, Mr. Lewis was a resident of Lexington. He was a chef/cook at Holmes-Humphreys Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by two sons, Melvin Lewis of Memphis and James Harris of Jackson; four daughters, Debra Lewis and Sharon Thomas, both of Detroit, Tammy Morgan of Greenville and Effie Lewis; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Marie Norton of Rolling Fork.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Chapel M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with Pastor Charlie Ceasar officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery.

Sarah N. Snow.

EDWARDS – Sarah N. Snow died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.

Mrs. Snow was a housewife and resident of Edwards.

She is survived by five daughters, Vera Snow Allen, Eugenia Snow Washington and Margaret Snow Scott, all of Chicago, and Katie Snow Fisher and Willie Dell Snow Butler, both of Edwards; four sons, Frank Snow, Eugene Snow Jr. and Eligah Snow, all of Chicago, and Exsell Snow of Edwards; and other relatives.

Services will be at noon Sunday at Greater Zion Travelers Church in Edwards with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Westhaven Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Frank Snow, Eugene Snow Jr., Exsell Snow, Eligah Snow, L.C. Taylor, David Taylor, Jerry Taylor and Kerry Taylor.

Dorothy Lee Barnes.

UNION CHURCH – Dorothy Lee Barnes died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital. She was 55.

A farmer, Mrs. Barnes was a member of Hickory Block United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Bubba Barnes Sr.; two brothers, A.C. and Joe Lewis Barnes; and a sister, Mary Frye.

She is survived by a son, Gary L. Barnes of Union Church; two brothers, J.D. Barnes of New Orleans and Bubba Barnes Jr. of Pattison; six sisters, Mary Helen Smith, Essie Mae O’Quinn, Betty Ann Williams and Deloris Barnes of Union Church, Mary Ruth Epherson of New Orleans and Catherine Miller of Pontiac, Mich.; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hickory Block United Methodist Church in Union Church with the Rev. Burnell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 until 6 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Fayette.

Pallbearers will be Maurice Williams, Dexbra William, Kennedy Smith, Dervon Bingham, Travis Barnes and Dalvin Patterson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Barnes Jr., J.D. Barnes, Bobby O’Quinn, John Smith, Tremaine O’Quinn and Kelvin Smith.
