JACKSON – Elizabeth Henry Whitfield, 84, of Jackson, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson with burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Miss Whitfield was a native of Jackson. She graduated from Central High School in 1940 and attended Belhaven College. She was a longtime legal secretary with Overstreet and Kukendall Law Firm. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.

Miss Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents, Garland Q. Whitfield and Bettie Henry Whitfield; and a sister, Roberta Whitfield Harding.

Survivors include her niece, Elizabeth Harding Jones and husband, Steve, and their children, Justin, Lindsay and Keaton of Vicksburg; and nephews, Edward Harding of Memphis and Bob Harding and wife, Angela, and their children, Tyler and Cade of Madison.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and friends of Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg and Dr. Paul Pierce and Dr. Mike Davis.
