Ms. Benard died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

She was a retired cook who had worked for 30 years at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was a member of Pleasant Hill M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Gray-Benard and Roosevelt Benard; two daughters, Georgia Ann Hall and Bessie Mae Whitaker; two sons, Kalvin Benard and Redale Benard; a sister, Mattile Benard; a brother, Charlie Benard; and a grandson, Jessie Benard Jr.

She is survived by six daughters, Leaverne Brent, Rebecca Tribble, Nancy Austin and Lillie Wardley, all of Vicksburg, Eliza Bentivengo of Wisconsin and Lenora Pendleton of Aurora, Ill.; nine sons, Jessie Benard Sr., Alonzo Austin, Mose Benard, Carl Benard, Andrew Benard, Aaron Benard and George Benard, all of Vicksburg, Joseph Benard of San Antonio, Texas, and Roosevelt Benard of Dallas; five sisters, Katherine Austin, Bertha Bernard and Roberta Sanders, all of Vicksburg, Rebecca Benard and Lenora Watts, both of Michigan; five brothers, Willie Bernard and John Benard, both of Vicksburg, Mose Benard and James Benard, both of California, Roosevelt Benard Jr. of Chicago; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

TALLULAH – Services for Gloria Jean Dahlhauser will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Tallulah with the Revs. Ferre D’Cruz and Cal Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dahlhauser died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 58.

She was born and had lived most of her life in Tallulah as an insurance billing clerk. She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her mother, Pauline H. Little; a stepfather, A.C. Little of Bastrop, La.; a brother, Wayne Florence of Thornton, Ark.; a stepsister, Dickie Tate of Kingwood, Texas; her fiance, Bobby Reynolds of Tallulah; and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Trey Reynolds, Matt Reynolds, Casey Carrington, Bill Fulcher, Malcolm Ramphrey, Gene Cox, Terry Tate and Charles Roberson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Hendrik Kuiper, Dr. Martin Newcomb and Dr. Lee Giffin.

Jeanetta G. Farmer.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Services for Jeanetta G. Farmer will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Samuel Lee Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Farmer died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at her home in Washington, D.C. She was 96.

She was a former resident of Vicksburg and a retired nurse’s assistant. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Brown and Lillie Williams Brown; two brothers, Robert L. Brown and Burton Brown; and four sisters, Elizabeth Ford Brown, Mary B. Smith, Julia Ryan and twin Arnetta McWane Brown.

She is survived by a nephew and caregiver, Samuel A. McWane of Washington, D.C.

Rita Palmer Hazzlerigg.

Rita Palmer Hazzlerigg died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 80.

Mrs. Hazzlerigg was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy and retired from Sears after 37 years of employment. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Mrs. Hazzlerigg was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Hazzlerigg Sr.; her son, Walter C. Hazzlerigg Jr.; her parents, Matt Palmer Sr. and Amy Palmer; her brother, Matt B. Palmer Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Gill.

Mrs. Hazzlerigg is survived by her son, Donald M. Hazzlerigg, and his wife, Bonnie, of Vicksburg; her daughter, Caroline Cummins of Vicksburg; her grandchildren, David Hazzlerigg of Ridgeland, Timothy Hazzlerigg of Port Gibson, Jeanine Hearn and Suzanne George of Vicksburg, Mark Russell of Saltillo and Michelle Hopson of Hattiesburg; sister-in-law, Ailene Palmer; several nieces and nephews; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight, followed by rosary at 7.

Pallbearers will be David Hazzlerigg, Leroy George, Dr. Daniel Edney, Timothy Hazzlerigg, Anthony Hearn, Mike Baroudy, Aubrey Cummins and Mark Russell.

Gloria Jean Winfield Neal.

FAYETTE – Gloria Jean Winfield Neal died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at DeSoto Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven. She was 49.

Born in Adams County, Mrs. Neal was a graduate of Copiah Lincoln Junior College. She retired as a justice clerk from Franklin County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo B. and Ashmore Lewis Winfield.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Neal; a daughter, Antionette Coburn of Olive Branch; a son, Thomas &#8220Tom Cat” Neal; six brothers, Joseph West of New Orleans, Freddy Lewis and James Lewis, both of Natchez, Samuel Lewis of Garyville, La., Melvin Lewis of Roxie and Anthony Lewis of Hamburg; four sisters, Lillie McCraw of Chicago, Helen Hunter of Stampley, Betty Winfield of Vicksburg and Shirley Lewis of Hamburg; two grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Pallbearers will be the friends of the family.

Terrell Lamar Wells.

PORT GIBSON – Services for Terrell Lamar Wells will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Russum with the Rev. Charles Cossett officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery in Lorman.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and from noon Saturday until the hour of service at the church. Family hour is from 7 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Wells died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, as the result of an automobile accident. He was 22.

He is survived by his mother, Delphine Turner, and stepfather, Willie, of Vicksburg; his father, Alfred Wells, and stepmother, Zannetta, of Red Lick; two sisters, Sherease Alexander of Lethonia, Ga., and Shalonda Trevillion of Fayette; five brothers, Twan Alexander of Iowa City, Delton Alexander of Yazoo City, Markiel Wells of Red Lick, Jaronta Alexander and Myzon Alexander, both of Vicksburg; a special friend, Crystal Whiting of Lorman; maternal grandmother, Lola Davis of Lorman; maternal grandfather, Freddie L. Alexander of Port Gibson; paternal grandmother, Alfred Carter of Red Lick; maternal great-grandmother, Eddie Alexander of Port Gibson; paternal great-grandmother, Zula Carter of Akron, Ohio; and aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

John H. White Sr.

CHICAGO – John H. White Sr., formerly of Vicksburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in Chicago. He was 87.

Mr. White served in the Army for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Viola White; and three sisters, Brittie Joanne Johnson, Challie Bea White Perkins and Cora White Miller.

He is survived by a son, John H. White Jr. of Chicago; a daughter, Clarice White of Indiana; a sister, Zebbie White Cook of Waukegan, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Corbin Colonial Funeral Chapel, 5345 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60644.
