HOLLANDALE – Services for Jean LaVerne Short-Lee of will be at 1 today at New Hope Baptist Church in Hollandale with the Rev. Melton Evans officiating.

Burial will follow at Glen Allan Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Mrs. Lee died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 63.

Born in Glen Allan, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Lillie Short. She attended O’Bannon School. She served on the mother’s board at Mount Horeb and New Hope M.B. churches in Hollandale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jimmie Lee Jr.; a brother, William D. Short; and three sisters, Edna Lidge, Essie Chaney and Thelma Reed.

She is survived by four daughters, Alma Sutton of Greenville, Kathy Lee, Felicia Lee and Kimberly Lee, all of Hollandale; two grandchildren; four brothers, Jimmy Short, Phil Short and Bobby Short, all of Greenville, and Jessie Short of Glen Allan; five sisters, Dorothy Molden of Leland, Lillie Ayers of Glen Allan, Emma Dora Smith and Odessa Fortune, both of Jackson, and Bertha Cannon of Greenville; and other relatives and friends.
