Raymond Bolton.
Raymond Bolton died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 92.
Mr. Bolton was retired from Jitney-Jungle Food Stores and attended Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran and member of American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Berthan Spencer Bolton; his wife, Laura Brown Bolton; his son, Raymond Bolton Jr.; his daughter, Vivian Bolton; two brothers, Albert Barnes and Jimmy Spencer; and a sister, Vasti Bolton.
Survivors include three daughters, Eunice Bolton Brayboy of Dallas, Gloria Bolton Evans of Huntsville, Ala., and Joyce Bolton Jones of Vicksburg; a brother, Henry Spencer of Vicksburg; and 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Georgia Broadway.
Georgia Cameron Broadway died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.
Mrs. Broadway was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Broadway; her parents, Judge Cameron and Elmonia Cosby Cameron; her brother, Major Cameron; her sisters, Fannie L. Hall, Alma “Betty” Apple and Ivory C. McGriggs.
Survivors include a brother, Judge Cameron of Detroit; three sisters, Florence C. Davis of Vicksburg, Alcy C. Vssery of Detroit and Patsy C. Scott of Niagara Falls, N.Y.

John Zack George Jr.
John Zack “JZ” George Jr. died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 83.
Mr. George was a native of Lexington, Miss., and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1940. Mr. George was the son of the late John Zack and Mayda McCool George Sr.
He retired with 38 years’ service with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mat Sinking Unit. He had served three years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine George, and a great-grandchild, Cody Smith.
Survivors include a son, John E. George and wife, Debby, of Vicksburg; two daughters, Rita Monk and husband, Ernie, of Vicksburg, and Lynda Laird of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Cathy Chesnut Red of Memphis, Michelle Monk Lynn of Vicksburg, Aaron George of Vicksburg and Taylor George of Vicksburg; great-grandchildren, Brian Jones of Memphis, Chelsea Powers of Dothan, Ala., Christopher Lynn of Vicksburg and Jonathan Lynn of Vicksburg.
Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Toby Jenkins, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Lynn, Christopher Lynn, Brian Jones, John Mahoney, Aaron George and Glen Davis.

Albert Jefferies.
HERMANVILLE – Services for Albert Jefferies will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitehall Baptist Church in Pattison, Miss., with the Rev. Leroy Dee officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be this evening from 1 until 6 at Thompson Funeral Home and from noon until the hour of service Monday at the church.
Mr. Jefferies died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 89.
Mr. Jefferies worked as a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years and was a Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nat Jefferies; and two brothers, McArthur Jefferies and Clarence Jefferies.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Pendleton of Lansing, Mich., Alfred Howard of Port Gibson and Rowan Gibson of Port Gibson; a daughter, Joanne Lynch of Hazlehurst; eight sisters, Cassie Jenkins, Ann Keeling, Audrey Jefferies, Johnnie McCormick and Wessie Jefferies, all of Queens, N.Y., Mazel Jefferies of Stanford, Conn., Ida Jefferies of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Maxine Washington of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Nat Jefferies Jr., of Queens; 11 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Tony Earl Major.
Tony Earl Major died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 36.
Mr. Major was of the Methodist faith. He was employed by Aaron Sales and Lease Ownership.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Major.
Survivors include his mother, Pauline Green Major of Vicksburg; two daughters, Destinee Major of Clinton and Renae Hayden of Vicksburg; three brothers, Charles Major of Vicksburg, Darren Major of Jackson and Terry Major of Chicago; sisters, Angela Hampton of Port Gibson and Deborah Carmichael of Orlando, Fla.

Charles E. Minor.
Charles E. “Lad” Minor died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 55.
Mr. Minor was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an antique furniture dealer and a security officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benard Minor and Rosie L. Minor; a sister, Edna Earle “Sister” Minor Harrison; and a brother, John “Joe” Minor Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Darlean Minor of Vicksburg; a son, Charles Benard Minor of Vicksburg; three brothers, Wilbert E. Minor, David Minor and Karl M. Minor, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Inez B. Summers of Vicksburg and Florida Colbert of Shelby, Miss.
