Services for Georgia Cameron Broadway will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Service with the Rev. Rudy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Broadway died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.

Mrs. Broadway was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Broadway; her parents, Judge Cameron Sr., and Elmonia Cosby Cameron; her brother, Major Cameron Sr.; her sisters, Fannie L. Hall, Almer &#8220Betty” Apple and Ivory C. McGriggs.

Survivors include a brother, Judge Cameron Jr. of Detroit; three sisters, Florence C. Davis of Vicksburg, Alma C. Ussery of Detroit and Patsy C. Scott of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and other relatives, including the Ussery and McGriggs families.

Robert W. Craig.

Services for Robert W. Craig will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bingham Memorial M.B. Church with the Rev. James Archer officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family will be present from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Craig died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 31.

Mr. Craig was a native of Vicksburg. He was a former member of Bingham Memorial Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Craig Sr.; a brother, Kirk Craig Sr.; and his grandfather, Robert White Sr.

He is survived by two daughters, Kiara Craig and Ar’Kirra Brown, both of Vicksburg; one son, Kyvontre Elmore of Vicksburg; one stepdaughter, KeiAvery Brooks of Vicksburg; his mother, Leona White Craig of Vicksburg; a brother, Samuel Craig Jr. of Vicksburg; a sister, Teffee Craig of Vicksburg; his grandmothers, Annie Bell White and Bernice Craig, both of Vicksburg; his great-grandmother, Lucinda James of Detroit; and other relatives and friends, including Yvonne Elmore and members of the Bingham, Caldwell, Crear, Holden, Elmore, Stewart and White families.

Mary Ava Downey Hallberg.

Mary Ava Downey Hallberg died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 98.

Born in Hickman County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late William Lee Downey and Minnie Little Downey.

Mrs. Hallberg had been a resident of Vicksburg most of her life and was a graduate of the 1927 class of Vicksburg High School. She and her late husband, Walter B. Hallberg Sr., owned and operated Waggener Auto Parts from 1946 until 1971.

Mrs. Hallberg was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a former superintendent of the Children’s Division for 50 years and was active in the church choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Allene H. Dabney of Vicksburg; three sons, Walter B. Hallberg Jr. of Vicksburg, James Edward Hallberg of Picayune and Richard Kent Hallberg of Roswell, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, Walter B. Hallberg III, Ava H. Duncan, Mark H. Hallberg, John Gee, Sara Bliss, Emily Dabney, Cherry Robbins, Bryan Dabney, Nancy Hayes, Christina Sampson, Debra Hallberg, Mary Catherine Smith and Richard K. Hallberg Jr.; 27 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including William &#8220Buddy” Hallberg, Mary Harris and Peggy Dudley of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Hazelrig, pastor of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Ed Hightower officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Walter Hallberg III, Mark H. Hallberg, Walter B. Hallberg IV, Eric A. Hallberg, John Gee, Scott Robbins, David Bliss, Bryan Dabney and Kent Hallberg.

The family would like to thank the staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Home and Dr. Walter Johnston Jr. for their loving care and attention for Mrs. Hallberg.

Bobby Ray Isaac.

TRANSYLVANIA, La. – Bobby Ray Isaac died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 44.

A resident of Transylvania, La., Mr. Isaac was born in Delhi and had lived in East Carroll Parish most of his life. He had done offshore work and had worked as an equipment operator for Terral River Services.

He was a member of Grand Prairie, Texas, Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Earl Isaac Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Jeneve Moore Isaac of Transylvania; a daughter, Jessica Raye Isaac; three brothers, James Earl Isaac Jr. and Jerry Wayne Isaac, both of Transylvania, and Charles William Isaac of Tallulah; the mother of his daughter, Lisa C. Isaac Holt; and nieces and nephews.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Jordan officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jamie Isaac, Neal Horath, Bill DeWeese, Tony DeWitt, Bill Hopkins and Daniel Sullivan.

Tony Earl Major.

Services for Tony Earl Major will be at noon Saturday at Bethel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service.

Mr. Major died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 36.

Mr. Major was of the Methodist faith. He was employed by Aaron Sales and Lease Ownership.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Major.

Survivors include his mother, Pauline Green Major of Vicksburg; two daughters, Destinee Major of Clinton and Renae Hayden of Vicksburg; five brothers, Charles Major of Vicksburg, Robert Lee Major and Henry Major Jr., both of Greenville, Darren Major of Jackson and Terry Major of Chicago; sisters, Angela Hampton of Port Gibson and Deborah Carmichael of Orlando, Fla.; a stepson, Gabriel Adams of Clinton; and a special friend, Millicent Adams of Clinton.

Charles E. Minor.

Services for Charles E. &#8220Lad” Minor will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Minor died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 55.

Mr. Minor was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an antique furniture dealer and a security officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benard Minor and Rosie L. Minor; a sister, Edna Earle &#8220Sister” Minor Harrison; and a brother, John &#8220Joe” Minor Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Darlean Minor of Vicksburg; a son, Charles Benard Minor of Vicksburg; three brothers, Wilbert E. Minor, David Minor and Karl M. Minor, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Inez B. Summers of Vicksburg and Florida Colbert of Shelby, Miss.; three stepsons, Julius Montgomery of Jackson, Odelle Montgomery and Roderick Montgomery, both of Vicksburg; and a stepdaughter, Cynthia Montgomery of Vicksburg.

Edward B. Tankesly Jr.

Edward B. Tankesly Jr. died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 61.

Born in Indianola, Mr. Tankesly had lived in Vicksburg since 1978. He was a retired Union millwright. He was a member of Warrenton Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte O’Neal Tankesly; a son, Thomas Allen Tankesly; and his parents, Edward B. Tankesly Sr. and Maude Harrison Tankesly.

Survivors include three daughters, Tina Holeman of Lucedale, Cathy Johnson of Pearl and Ann Johnson of Raleigh, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bernard Webster.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bernard Webster died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, in Kansas City, Mo. He was 43.

A former resident of Edwards, Mr. Webster was a mechanic.

He is survived by his daughter, De’Nita Barnett of Edwards; four sisters, Peggie Johnson and Jeanette Bolton, both of Edwards, Patricia Webster of Bolton and Mary Berry of Jackson; five brothers, Ricky Johnson of Edwards, Delmar Johnson Jr. of West Memphis, Ark., Willie Joe Johnson and Quinton Webster, both of Vicksburg, and Robert Johnson of Jackson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill M.B. Church in Bolton. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
