Jim Long died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 80.

A native of Choctaw County, Mr. Long had lived in Vicksburg for the past 40 years. He served in the Navy in World War II. He served as manager of Kroger Food Store when it opened in Vicksburg. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette B. Long of Vicksburg; three brothers, John A. Long of Clinton, Jim Lee Long of Jackson and Royce Long of Memphis; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Barnes, Mike Long, Jeff Long, Frazure Stacy, Ronny Clift, Brian Rickman and David Huffman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delay Barnes, Trent Evans, Jay Long, Jack Woods, Kenny Higginborthan, Ken Bruwelhide, Ron Long, Rick Hoffman, Jimmy Butler, members of the Highland Baptist Church Sunday school class and employees of Hospice Ministries and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church.

Claudia McQueen Hall Tannehill.

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Claudia McQueen Hall Tannehill died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was 85.

Mrs. Tannehill was born in Vicksburg to Samuel Claude Hall and Blanche Ernest Street Hall. She graduated from the Demonstration School of Mississippi Southern College in Hattiesburg and received an undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. She received her master’s degree in education from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.

She taught elementary school, retiring in Denver, Colo.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg and the Dallas Oaks Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stuart Tannehill; a brother, Donald Street Hall; and a sister, Blanche Hall Hollingshead.

She is survived by two sons: Robert Stuart Tannehill Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, and Donald Street Tannehill of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Dr. Donald Hall of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
