Willie Lee Friar Brent.
Willie Lee Friar Brent died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Bryan and Elnora Wright Friar. She was a nurse and unit secretary for the former ParkView Regional Medical Center for 22 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brent was preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Brent Sr.; a granddaughter, Leslie Brewer; and a brother, Charles Dixon Friar.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Lynn Jordan of Leechburg, Pa., and Jacquetta “Jackie” Brewer of Vicksburg; five sons, Jerry W. Brent of Clinton, David W. Brent of Luling, Texas, Robert Bryan Kethley of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Roger L. Brent of Vicksburg and Claude E. Brent Jr. of Baton Rouge; one brother, Lonnie Friar of Vicksburg; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White, pastor of Bowmar Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Richard Kethley, James Kethley, Jeremy Brent, Justin Brent, Jason Brent and Jacob Lindsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Russell Barnes, Ann Haas and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Local 1964 Carpenter Millwrights.
Daniel Dunwreath McGuire.
RAYMOND – Daniel Dunwreath McGuire, 87, died from kidney failure Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 19, 2006, at Byram Community of Faith Church in Byram, Miss.
Mr. McGuire was born June 3, 1919, in Grand Forks, N.D.
As a child, he lived in Grand Forks and Portage La Parrie, Canada. He graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1937 and from Dakota Business College in 1939. He accepted a job in Sidney, Mont., as an accountant with Holley Sugar Factory.
Mr. McGuire remained with Holley Sugar until his retirement in 1985 with 46 years of service. He lived in Sidney from 1939 until 2002. In 2002, he moved to Raymond to be with his daughter and family.
During his lifetime, he was secretary to the Sidney Camera Club and to the Moose and Elks lodges. He was treasurer for the Lambert Senior Center and, in 2000, he had the honor of being selected Senior of the Year.
Mr. McGuire loved to travel. His hobbies were making lamps and tabletops with Montana agates; collecting stamps and coins; and leather crafting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Rose McGuire; his brothers, Leonard McGuire and Vernon McGuire; granddaughter, Patricia Pyron of Vicksburg; and great-granddaughter, Rose Marie Brite of Alaska.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Brite of Raymond; grandchildren, Glynn Brite of California, Rose Elizabeth Wood of Vicksburg and Leslie Blakeney of Raymond; great-grandchildren, Chris Pyron of Yazoo, Eric D. Wood of Flowood, Tim G. Wood and Kristina Pyron of Vicksburg, and Matthew and Crystal Brite of California; great-great-grandchildren, Justin and Glynn Brite of Alaska, Shane and Gracie Pyron of Yazoo and JaLynn Wood of Vicksburg; and faithful companion, his pet Duke.
