Lady Vikes take down PG again|[11/17/06]

Warren Central is making victories over Port Gibson part of its weekly routine.

Sha’Kayla Caples scored 15 points and grabbed 20 rebounds Thursday night to lead WC to its second victory over Port Gibson this season, 63-45. WC also beat the Lady Waves in the season-opening Vicksburg Warren Classic last week.

Brittany Willis added 11 points and Shawnise Smith scored 10 for the Lady Vikes (4-1), who scored 24 points in the first quarter and led 39-21 at halftime.

Katrina Wilson led Port Gibson (3-4) with 18 points and Regina Grigsby scored 13.

Warren Central will host Wingfield on Monday at 6 p.m.

(B) WC 59, Port Gibson 49.

Mario Luckett scored 36 points to help Warren Central (4-1) hold off Port Gibson.

WC led by 10 points at halftime, but Port Gibson closed to within one, 43-42, by the end of the third quarter. The Vikings outscored the Blue Waves 16-7 in the final period to claim the 10-point victory.

Kadeem Fleming led Port Gibson with 19 points, while Karlos Wilson and Carter McGee each netted eight. Seven other players besides Luckett scored for WC, but none had more than five points.
