Elvia Burnett Johnson.
Elvia Burnett Johnson died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 90.
A homemaker, Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Burnett Sr. and Lillie Burnett Chatman; her husband, Elmer Johnson Sr.; a son, Ernest Johnson; and two brothers, John Burnett Jr. and Andrew Burnett.
She is survived by a son, Elmer Johnson Jr. of Vicksburg; a daughter, Annie Marie Johnson Green of Vicksburg; one brother, Howard L. Burnett of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, including Flora M. Johnson of Vicksburg whom she reared; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including members of the Barnes and Burnett families of Vicksburg.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

ATHENS, Ala. – Charlotte Cannon Oldenburg died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Athens Convalescent Center in Athens, Ala. She was 56.
Mrs. Oldenburg was born Feb. 25, 1950, in Mississippi. She was a retired licensed practical nurse for Dr. Henk Kuiper at the Vicksburg Clinic. She was a member of Clements Baptist Church in Athens and a former member of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Vicksburg.
She is survived by her husband, David Oldenburg of Athens; her father, Eddie Cannon of Vicksburg; three daughters, Crickett Chapman of Shreveport, La., Krissy Wilder of Conway, S.C., and Jaime Coon of Port Gibson; one brother, Larry Cannon of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, Tommy Messina, Tate Messina, Chloe Chapman, Morgan Wilder, Gracen Wilder and Jason Lee Coon; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clements Baptist Church with Tim Anderson officiating and at 3 p.m. Nov. 26 at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Dr. Henk Kuiper officiating. Spry Funeral Home in Athens has charge of arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Clements Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Respite Care at Clements Baptist Church.
