Claudine H. Lee died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at her residence. She was 78.

A homemaker, Mrs. Lee was a native of Holly Bluff, Miss., and lived in Vicksburg since 1963. She was a member of Bovina Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Hill Hart and Adrienne M. Hart; her husband, Douglas E. Lee; a sister, Marynette Walker; three brothers, Frank Hart, Buddy Hart and Claude Hart, a twin brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Claudette Doiron and Janet Brown and her husband, Glynn, both of Vicksburg; two sons, Michael H. Lee and Phillip Lee and his wife, Lacey, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Lula Smithhart of Vicksburg and Maxine Smithhart of Jackson; a brother, Dewey Hart of Colliersville, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Kelle Witters, Kimberly Channell, LeeAnn Channell, Lacey Greer, Misty Lee, Madeline Lee, Sophie Grace Lee and Ashley Brown, all of Vicksburg; and eight great-grandchildren

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Richard Smithhart, Terry Smithhart, Kyle Hart, Doug Walker, Luke Mobley and Richard Blush.

Rosie Johnson

Rosie Johnson died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at her home. She was 79.

Mrs. Johnson was retired from business and a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Sims and Henry Miller; her husband, David Johnson; and a daughter, Della Marie Miller.

Survivors include a son, Michael C. Johnson; a stepson, David Brooks, both of Vicksburg; and a granddaughter.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys M. McDowell

Services for Gladys M. McDowell will be at noon Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Jeffery officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charged.

Mrs. McDowell died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Heritage House. She was 96.

She was a retired businesswoman and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Sodality and AARP.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William McDowell and Tula Duncan; a son, Carl L. Forn; a brother, Carl McDowell; and two sisters, Helen Taylor and Esther Richardson.

She is survived by two sons, Elwood McDowell of Tucson, Ariz., and Issac Wilson of Sturgis, Miss.; a daughter, Geraldine Harge of Albuquerque, N.M.; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
