A strong 20 minutes to open Friday’s divisional clash with Madison Central went for naught for Warren Central Friday night at Viking Field.

The Lady Jaguars (15-4-2, 6-0) scored three goals in the final 19 minutes of the first half and went on to post a 6-0 win over Warren Central (11-8-2, 2-3).

&#8220We outshot them in the first half, we just had trouble finishing,” WC coach Kristin Gough said.

The Lady Vikes host Vicksburg Tuesday and will have to win by at least three goals to make the Class 5A playoffs.

Madison Central already had the division title sewn up and coach Mike Curley said his team was looking forward to today’s clash with unbeaten and No. 1 ranked Tupelo in Madison.

&#8220We needed a good workout to get ready for Tupelo. It’s all about getting ready for the playoffs,” he said.

Either WC or Vicksburg will get Tupelo in the first round of the 5A playoffs.

The Lady Vikes had five shots on goal compared to four for Madison in the game’s first 20 minutes. But it was Madison’s Heather Robertson who got the game’s first goal.

The Lady Jaguars made it 2-0 on a goal by Chandler Evans with 6:10 left in the half. Evans then made it 3-0 less than two minutes later.

Tricia Tillman, the daughter of former Chicago Bears’ running back Lewis Tillman, scored the first of three second half goals. Robertson got her second of the game and Ramona Folkes had the other.

Mary Clare Scurria and Kristine Fischenich both had strong shots at goal knocked away in the final six minutes, preserving Madison’s shutout.

(B) Madison Central 4, WC 2

Barton Dinkins scored two goals in the first overtime to lead the Jaguars past the Vikings and give former WC coach Jay Harrison a win on his old field.

&#8220This win puts us in the playoffs,” Harrison said of his team that improved to 11-8-1 overall.

The two teams ended regulation tied at 2. Heath Carroll and Caleb Hollingsworth had the goals for the Vikings (6-12-2, 2-3). Logan Hayes and Collin Waggoner had the Jaguars’ regulation goals.

Dinkins broke the tie with 4:20 left in the first overtime from 15 yards out. He added a second goal in stoppage time for a 4-2 lead.

WC was unable to score in the second overtime period.

(B) St. Al 5, Jim Hill 1

Bray Jones scored a pair of goals, and Richard Cowart, Joseph Sudderth and Jase Ebersole each netted one in the Flashes’ big win over Jim Hill. Cowart and Ebersole each converted a penalty kick.

(G) St. Aloysius 8, Jim Hill 0

Rebecca Sigh, Taylor George and Haley Davis each scored two goals for St. Al (9-7) in a rout of Jim Hill Friday.
