Grover Douglas Everhart

TALLULAH – Grover Douglas Everhart died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. He was 70.

Mr. Everhart was born in West Helena, Ark., and had lived in Tallulah for 50 years. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira N. Everhart and Ellen Everhart; his stepmother, Pauline Everhart; his stepbrother, Curtis Everhart; and two sisters, Dee Hartwick and Dorothy Cox.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Everhart, and his son, Wayne Everhart, both of Georgia; his sister, Elizabeth E. Parker, and his stepbrother, Kenneth Richmond, both of Tallulah.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Silver Cross Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Holder officiating.

Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

John Kennedy

John Kennedy died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 77.

Retired from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mr. Kennedy was a member of Paragon Lodge No. 7 F&AM and Shiloh M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Kennedy and Sophia Harris Kennedy; and a sister, Helen Kennedy Holmes.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Kennedy; three daughters, Shirley Wilkerson of Atlanta, Joyce White of Jackson and Debra Smith of Vicksburg; three brothers, D.C. Kennedy and George Kennedy, both of Vicksburg, and Issac Kennedy of Waterproof, La.; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
