Harold Gilbert Schultz died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 86.
Born in Weona, Ark., Mr. Schultz had lived in Vicksburg since 1936. He was the son of the late Michael Schultz and Louisa Homuth Schultz. Mr. Schultz graduated from Carr Central High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in the South Pacific. He retired from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Schultz was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and First Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Carole M. Schultz of Vicksburg; two daughters, Donita Schultz of Charleston, S.C. and Sherry Pennington and husband, Rob, of Houston; a son, Trent G. Schultz and wife, Cathy, of Denham Springs, La.; and five grandchildren, Andrew Franck, Michael Franck, Tracy Schultz, Gregg Schultz and Blake Schultz.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Rusty Hays, interim pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until the hour of service.
