BOSSIER CITY, La. – Services for Charles Asa Blakeney were this morning at 11:30 at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Funeral Home Chapel in Bossier City, La.

Minister Brewster of Airline Drive Church of Christ officiated. Burial will be at 4:30 today at Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery in Vicksburg. Visitation was Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles Asa Blakeney died on Feb. 20, 2007, in Bossier City. He was 72.

Mr. Blakeney was born in North Little Rock, Ark., and was a resident of Bossier City. He was a member of Airline Drive Church of Christ. He worked as a boilermaker-welder. He was a member of the American Legion and Local 263 of the Boilermakers Union. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann; a grandson, Bobby Davis; a son, Donnie Wood; his parents; a sister, Lyndall Mohr; and a brother, Thomas Blakeney.

He is survived by two brothers, Fred R. Blakeney and Ben Blakeney; a son, Gary Michael James and wife, Jill; three daughters, Jan Blakeney Peters and husband, Brannon, Barbie Blakeney Morrill and husband, John, Kay Davis and husband, Bob; 13 grandchildren, Kimberly D. Smith and husband, Brian, Morgan Peters, Madison Peters, Jackson Peters, Connor L. McKinzey, Ted Morrill, Chuck Morrill, Sam Morrill, Erin James Tubberville and husband, Terry, Josh James, Mandy James, Mickey James and Casey James; and three great-grandchildren, Lauryn Smith, Megan Smith and Gavin Tuberville.

Pallbearers were Brannon Peters, Bob Davis, John Morrill, Reed McLendon, Brian Smith and Chris Peters.

Alice Davis Coleman

Services for Alice Davis Coleman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bypass Church of Christ on U.S. 61 North with Willie Nettles officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coleman died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 86.

A homemaker, Mrs. Coleman was a member of Bypass Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Coleman Sr.; her parents, William and Mary Elizabeth Patterson Davis; a son, Thomas Jackson &#8220T.J.” Coleman; a daughter, Mary Sue Boozer; one sister, Willie Mae Davis-Devine; and five brothers, Bracy Wood, Connie Wood, Andrew Wood, Archer Davis and Willie Davis Jr.

She is survived by five sons, Henry &#8220Nick” Coleman Jr., Bracy Coleman, William Coleman, Leon Coleman and Charles Coleman, all of Vicksburg; three daughters, Willie Mae Jackson, Carol Woods and Savannah Coleman-Dixon, all of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Michael Farrell Lowery

Michael Farrell Lowery died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at his home. He was 32.

Born and raised in Vicksburg, Mr. Lowery attended Warren Central High School, Hinds Junior College and the National Hardwood Lumber School in Memphis, Tenn.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was a past employee of Anderson-Tully Lumber Company, where he worked as a lumber inspector.

Mike was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed amateur taxidermy. His presence will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Warene Nations.

He is survived by his parents, Odis Jr. and Sherry Lowery; a sister, Teasha Lowery Brewer and her husband, Davis, of Vicksburg; paternal grandparents, Odis and Rosa Lowery of Vicksburg; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Nations Sr. of Vicksburg; a niece, Brittany Brewer of Vicksburg; uncles, Ricky Lowery of Vicksburg and Wilbur Nations Jr. of Natchez; and an aunt, Dean Hampton of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Lowery, Buddy Hampton, David Brewer, Adam Caruthers, Tom &#8220Tac” Caruthers and Jeff Caruthers.

Honorary pallbearer will be Wilbur Nations Jr.

Memorial may be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church at 3736 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

Lynn Moore

PEARL, Ill. – Lynn Moore died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill. He was 73.

Mr. Moore was born in Pearl, Ill., to William and Edna Faye Boren Moore. He was a graduate of Pearl High School and Texas Tech University and attended Western Illinois University and Blackburn College.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Moore worked in Vicksburg as a regional economist for the Mississippi River Commission.

He was a member of Pearl Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a son, Jeffrey Gene Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Reel; three sons, Jedd Moore of Pearl, Joey Earl Moore of Oceola, Fla., and Justin Lynn Moore of Lincoln, Ill.; one daughter, Jill A. Moore of Vicksburg; oine brother, Gary Boyd Moore of Quincy, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill., with Wilson Ramsey officiating.

Visitstion will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Pearl Church of Christ or Vicksburg Church of Christ.

Vickie Jane Rash

TALLULAH – Services for Vickie Jane Rash will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Parkview Baptist Church with the Rev. Cleatus Moak officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 8 at Crothers-Gleenwood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rash died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 44.

She was born in Vicksburg and had lived in Tallulah since 1985. She was a secretary and manager of A-1 Check Cashing Company and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Rash was preceded in death by her father, Shannon Jones.

Survivors include her husband, James &#8220Bub” Rash of Tallulah; two daughters, Heather Williamson and Jennifer Rash, both of Tallulah; three sons, Bubba Kirkley and Merle Kirkley, both of Tallulah, and J.J. Kirkley of Vicksburg; two brothers, Wayne Jones and Terry Jones, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Reba Moody and Patty Martin, both of Vicksburg; her mother, Sarah Crowson and step-father, Johnny Crowson, both of Vicksburg; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Richard Williamson, Brian Busby, Jimmy Tamburo, Todd Eakes, David Lowery and Clem Tullos.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Stutts, Eddie Tennant, and members of the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Department and the Tallulah Police Department.

Willie Ringo Sr.

JACKSON – Services for Willie Ringo Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Black’s Chapel M.B. Church with burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday with Westhaven Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Ringo died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 54.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ada Ringo.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie Ringo of Jackson; two sons, Christopher Smith and Willie Ringo Jr., both of Jackson; three daughters, Lakeisha White McRunnels of Vicksburg, Angela R. Marshall of Jackson and Stephanie Hart of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Elder Bertha Davenport and Mary Brown Bowman, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Henry Ringo and James Ringo, both of Vicksburg; and 14 grandchildren.

Darrel Glen Thomas

Darrel Glen Thomas died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in Tulsa, Okla. He was 37.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John Henry Ross and Katie Lee Durr and a sister, Gloria Ann Bunch.

He is survived by two brothers, John Thomas and David Thomas both of Vicksburg; five sisters, Shirley Deon Arine of Jersey City, N.J., Mary Ross Maywood and Mary Thomas, both of Vicksburg, Eula Ayankoa of Japan and LaVerne Jordan of Prentiss; maternal grandmother Juanita Hawthorne of Tulsa, Okla., an uncle and two aunts of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the W.H. Jefferson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Ross officiating. Visitation will be today from 6-7 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
