Paul Green Jr.
PORT GIBSON – Paul Green Jr. died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 66.
Mr. Green was born in Claiborne County to Paul Green Sr. and Annie Lee Larry-Green.
He was employed with General Electric and was a member of Rose Hill Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Green of Port Gibson; two daughters, Melissa Green of Port Gibson and Leketta Collier of Madison, Wis.; four brothers, Arthur Green of Lorman, Matthew Green of Hermanville and Frank Green and Lawerence Green, both of Chicago; six sisters, Pauline Major and Dorothy Johnson, both of Vicksburg, Delores Wells of Fayette and Barbara Ann Buck, Nancy Green and Angela Hampton, all of Port Gibson; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church with the Rev. Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 7 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Geraldine McGee
ROLLING FORK – Geraldine McGee died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at her home in Rolling Fork. She was 62.
Mrs. McGee is survived by her mother, Catherine Washington of Rolling Fork; one daughter, Rosie Marie McGee of Rolling Fork; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at E.P. Baptist Church with Pastor J.H. Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Rolling Fork.
Visitation will be from 5 until 6 tonight at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Louis Morris Sr.
Louis Morris Sr. died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.
Before moving to Vicksburg, Mr. Morris was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Flint, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Morris; his parents, Robert Morris Sr. and Mattie Bell Morris; and a sister, Sarah Grace Morris.
He is survived by six daughters, Maureen Morris-Myles, Adrienne Hall, Delphine Taylor, Toccoa Morris, Tabitha Jones and Trona Jones, all of Vicksburg; six sons, Louis Morris Jr. of Richland, Todd Morris of Saginaw, Mich., and Robert Morris III, Melvin Davis, Larry Davis and Clarence Jones, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Thelma Turner of Vicksburg and Minnie Morris of Flint; thee brothers, Shelby Morris of Vicksburg, Robert Morris Jr. of Flint and Clarence Eugene Morris of Kansas City, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Martha Voree Chappell Walters
TALLULAH – Martha Voree Chappell Walters died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at St. Francis North Hospital in Monroe. She was 82.
Mrs. Walters was a native of Jackson Parish, La. She was reared in Transylvania and had been a Tallulah resident for a number of years. With her husband, she owned and operated Walters Furniture Store in Tallulah for 50 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Lamar Walters Sr.; her parents, Marshall Eugene Chappell and Thula Tullos Chappell; a brother, Billy Gene Chappell; and three sisters, Cloteal Chappell Ezell, Carolyn Kennedy and Sonya Elizabeth Chappell.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Ann Walters of Brandon; a son, Leland Lamar Walters Jr.; one brother, Norman Chappell of Minden, La.; four sisters, Betty McConnell of Ferriday, La., Sybol McGree of Houma, La., Wanda Swilley of Pass Christian and Jimmie Gail McPherson of West Monroe; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be Todd Walters, Lee Walters, Marshall Walters, Jerrell Sullivan, Hugh McConnell and Richie Johns.
