D’Ella Andrews
D’Ella Andrews died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Promise Specialty Hospital. She was 83.
A native of Jackson, Mrs. Andrews was retired from Mercy Hospital as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matilda Robinson and Ester Simmons; and her husband, Johnny Andrews Sr.
Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Dorsey of Port Gibson, Deloris Powell and Theresa Andrews, both of Vicksburg, JoAnn Barnes of Vicksburg, and Taylor West of Jersey City, N.J.; a son, Johnny Andrews Jr. of Vicksburg; and 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Robert Eugene Beasley
Robert Eugene “Bob” Beasley died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.
A native of Douglas, Ga., he was the son of the late C.J. and Ida Beckworth Beasley. He had made his home in Vicksburg since 1942. Mr. Beasley retired from Westinghouse Corporation and Crouse-Hines Lighting Division. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, past president of Vicksburg Lions Club, district governor and director of Mississippi Lions Eye Bank and past president of the Mississippi Chapter of National Watch and Clock Collectors.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his wife, Effie M. Beasley; a son, Charles Lloyd Beasley; two sisters, Vivian Barrett and Lucille Curry; and a brother, Ernest Beasley.
Mr. Beasley is survived by two daughters, Patricia Tullos of Vicksburg and Rita Flynn of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Jennifer Abdeen and Emily Embry, both of Vicksburg, Katy Agnew of Jackson and Sarah Lambert of Tupelo; two sisters, Mary B. Kicklighter of Jesup, Ga., and Elvenia Sidener of Augusta, Ga.; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Billy Brumfield of Immanuel Baptist Church and Nelson Walley officiating. Burial will follow at Redbone Cemetery.

Vera R. Keller
Vera R. Keller died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Keller was a native of Jefferson Davis County and had spent most of her life in Vicksburg. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simeon and Lela Ross; and her husband, Howard T. Keller.
She is survived by a son, Mark A. Keller of Cochran, Ga.; and her companion, Lawrence B. Storey Jr. of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Acres Memorial Park. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be William E. Owens III, Bobby Kitchens, Rick Arnold, Lawrence Storey IV, Richard Moncure, Howard Muirhead, Lawrence B. Storey III and Curt Holman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sharon and Gordon Evans, Karla Arnold, Kim Pickett, David Keller, Barbara Kitchens, and the doctors and staff of the South Ward at River Region Medical Center.
Laurie Hilton Stubbs
PORT GIBSON – Laurie Hilton Stubbs, age 87, died May 18, 2007, at Claiborne County Nursing Center in Port Gibson.
She was born in Florida and was a Utica resident for most of her life. She had been a resident of Port Gibson for the past six years. She was employed with Smith Pecan Co. in Raymond for a number of years.
She was a member of Stepping Stone Baptist Church of Port Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, T.J. Hilton and Jessie Stubbs; and a daughter, Joy Hilton.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Hynum and husband, Ronnie, of Port Gibson; a sister, Mattie Stevens of Williston, Fla.; a brother, T.J. Sapp of Florida; and two grandchildren, Brent Hynum of Utica and Kelly Hynum of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home of Utica. Burial will be at Utica Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Monday at the funeral home in Utica at 1 p.m.
The Rev. Mark Dearman will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Hynum, Neil Wood, Burnice Trevilion, Gary Hynum, Hal Hutchins and Shawn Smith.
