Wiley J. Barnes
Wiley J. Barnes died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 66.
A native of Edenburg, Miss., Mr. Barnes had lived in Vicksburg for the past 42 years. He attended Solid Rock United Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Edna May Barnes; a brother, Cordel Poteet; and a granddaughter, Crystal Braxton.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Barnes of Vicksburg; three sons, Jason Barnes, Jimmy Lee Braxton and Garland Barnes, all of Vicksburg; a daughter, Suzette Garceau of Gallatin, Tenn.; three brothers, Garland Campbell and James Campbell, both of Sealy, Texas, and Bill Stevens of Jackson; two sisters, Cathy Lowe of Vicksburg and Louise Havard of Moss Point; 10 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy J. Talbert officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Branch, Mike McKissack, Russ Garceau, Jimmy Braxton, Doug Brown and Bill McMullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Godwin, Bobby Godwin, Butch McMullen, Ricky McMullen, Dr. William Johnston, Jack Bufkin, Dr. Calvin Masterson and Patients Choice Hospice Staff.

Eddie Lee Pearson
PANTHER BURN – Eddie Lee Pearson died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 64.
Mr. Pearson was born in Elizabeth, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Joseph Pearson; and two sisters, Marie Mobley and Edna Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Pearson of Anguilla; four sons, Eddie Farris of Jackson, Eric Pearson of Harrisburg, Penn., Lee Kendrick Pearson of California, and Brian Keith Pearson of Fort Bennett, Ga.; two daughters, Janice Marie Farris of Chicago and Renee Pearson of Jackson; three brothers, Joseph Pearson Jr. and Samuel Pearson Sr., both of Leland, and George Pearson Sr. of London, England; seven sisters, Loreen Thompson of Long Beach, Calif., Josie Wallace, Marcella Pearson and Princella Pearson, all of Greenville, and Joyce Winder, Sarah McCray and Gloria Pearson, all of Elizabeth.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla with the Rev. James Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Sister of Charity Cemetery in Elizabeth under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Lee Farris, Lee Kendrick Pearson, Joseph Pearson Jr., George Pearson Sr., Eric Pearson, Brian Keith Pearson, Samuel Dean Pearson Sr., Joe Richards and Jerry Richards.
Lurlene Lowe Stallings DuBard Shearer
Lurlene Lowe Stallings DuBard Shearer, an author, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 88.
Mrs. Shearer wrote a two-volume family history book that had been published in several states, regional and national magazines. She published her first novel, “A Virgin Grows Up,” last year. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents, Marshall and Lillie Nowell Lowe; a brother, Harold Lowe, and a half-brother, Lyndon Lowe; two stepsons, Leighton Shearer and Douglas Shearer; and a great-grandson, Thomas Howard Rasberry.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Prough of Jackson, Tenn., Joy Loft of Portland, Ore., and Beverly White of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and three stepsons, Don Shearer of Santee, Calif., Kenneth Shearer of Jackson and Robert Shearer of Purvis.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
