Fal P. Knight Sr.
Services for Fal P. Knight Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Williams Funeral Service and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Mr. Knight died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 71.
A retiree from the U.S. Army, Mr. Knight was a member of Poplar Hill Church in Lorman and American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Knight Sr. and Georgian P. Knight; two brothers, Eddie Knight and Elijah Knight; and a sister, Ethel Lee Knight.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Knight of Vicksburg; five sons, Fal P. Knight Jr. and Otis William Knight, both of Chicago, Danny Neal Knight and Gregory Lawerence Knight, both of Washington, D.C., and Glennis Earl Knight of Vicksburg; three daughters, Georgia Marie Knight of Chicago, Debra Ann Knight of Washington, D.C., and Angela Hyde of Stockridge, Ga.; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Charlie James Murrah Jr.
Charlie James “Jay” Murrah Jr. died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at his home. He was 58.
Born in Vicksburg. Mr. Murrah served in the Army as a paratrooper. He was a millwright with the Carpenters Local 303 and a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Tori Jean Murrah of Beaumont, Texas, and Deanna Rashel McManus of Bastrop, Texas; two sons, Stephen Christopher Murrah and Jay Dewayne Murray, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Barbara Murrah of Vicksburg; three brothers, Lance L. Murrah and Ernest Emil Murrah, both of Vicksburg, and Rodney Britt Murrah of Semi Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to favorite charities.
Jerry Wayne Pedron
Jerry Wayne Pedron died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007. He was 57.
Born in Springhill, La., he was the son of the late Lewis Frank Pedron and Mary Katherine Gardner Pedron.
Mr. Pedron was a graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Hinds Junior College. He was a veteran, serving in the Army in the Vietnam War.
Mr. Pedron was a power plant operator with International Paper Company, retiring in 2006. He was an avid outdoorsman and was active in hunting and fishing. He was a marathon runner, having participated in numerous races. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Pedron.
He is survived by two brothers, Lester F. Pedron of Vicksburg and Louis Pedron of Denver, Colo.; a niece, Melissa Mitko of Clinton, Conn.; and two nephews, Jeffrey Pedron of Collierville, Tenn., and Mark Pedron of Elizabethtown, Ky.
Visitation for Jerry Wayne Pedron will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m.
