Paul T. Allen
Services for Paul T. Allen will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Halls Ferry Road.
Mr. Allen died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 72.
Mr. Allen was born in Tylertown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Allen; his parents, Sidney Allen Sr. and Willie Mae Duncan-Allen; three brothers, Sidney Allen Jr., Michael Allen and Mitchell Allen; and one sister, Bernice Lee.
He is survived by a son, Lee Paul Allen of Frankerton, La.; three daughters, Aileen Allen, Stephanie Williams and Gloria Jean Harvey of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Lora Allen of Tylertown; his caregivers, Eddie and Laverne Brent of Vicksburg; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends and other relatives, including Mark Minor, Angel Rhodes, Cornelius Lee, Allisha Brent and Gladys Sweet of Vicksburg.
Stella Jackson Burns
Services for Stella Jackson “Mickey” Burns will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Heroden Baptist Church with the Rev. Reginald Bernard officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Mrs. Burns died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at her home. She was 57.
Mrs. Burns had worked as a private-duty nurse. She was a member of Christian Home M.B. Church No. 2.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burns; and her father, James Jackson Sr.
Survivors include her son, Roy Brown of Vicksburg; three daughters, Tammy Brown Garrett of Memphis, Kimberly Brown Lane of Vicksburg and Tiffany Brown of Southaven; her mother, Josie Jackson of Vicksburg; five sisters, Annie Jordan of Jacksonville, N.C., and Ora Jackson Carson, Gertrude Williams, Lynda Jackson and Janie Thomas, all of Vicksburg; three brothers, James Jackson Jr. of Vicksburg, Charlie Jackson of Texarkana, Texas, and Willie Smith of Aurora, Ill.; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Mattie Mae Dulaney
EDWARDS – Mattie Mae Dulaney died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007. She was 64.
Born in Hinds County, Mrs. Dulaney was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Hunter; and a brother, Velma Elvin Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, L.C. Dulaney Sr. of Edwards; her mother, Mattie Hunter of Edwards; two sons, Frederick Lee Hunter and Leonard Charles Dulaney Jr., both of Edwards; two daughters, Alma Dulaney Aune of Arlington, Texas, and Tricia Ann Thompson of Raymond; six brothers, Freddie Willis Sr. of Bolton, Larry Hunter, Johnny Hunter and Willie Bishop, all of Edwards, Oliver Coverson of Chicago and Melvin Hunter Jr. of Hollandale; five sisters, Theresa M. Hunter and Diane Wheaton, both of Edwards, Inette Williams and Doretha Coleman, both of Jackson, and Gloria Ellison of Georgia; three grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United M.B. Church with the Rev. Willie F. Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Church Cemetery under the direction of Lakeover Funeral Home in Jackson.
Willedna Johnson
HOUSTON – Willedna Johnson died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Cypresswood Health and Rehab in Houston, Texas. She was 91.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kingsley Chapel United Methodist Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah M.B. Church Cemetery in Edwards under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
Larry Erves Kelly
Larry Erves Kelly died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at his home in Bovina. He was 57.
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Kelly and Ledora Franklin Johnson; and one brother, Louis Wilson Jr.
Survivors include three sisters, Willene Wilson of Aurora, Ill., and Gwendolyn George and Mary Meeks, both of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Thomas F. Lampkin
Thomas F. “Shorty” Lampkin died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 78.
Born in Lehigh, Okla., on Nov. 16, 1928, Mr. Lampkin had been a resident of Vicksburg for many years. He retired from the construction industry. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Lampkin; two brothers, Jim Lampkin and Alfred Lampkin.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Lampkin of Vicksburg; five sons, Ronnie Lampkin, Tommy M. “Bubba” Lampkin and wife, Sharon, Danny Prince and wife, LaVonne, Jay Prince and wife, Shelia, and Timmy Lampkin and wife, Lori, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Jerri Mocknick and husband, Joe, and Connie Lampkin Truesdale, all of Vicksburg; a sister, Delsie Horn of Coalgate, Okla.; a brother, Hubert Lampkin of Ardmore, Okla.; 15 grandchildren, Kayle Truesdale, Cannon Lampkin, Taylor Lampkin, Cassidy Lampkin, Kenneth Prince, Chris Moore, Tiffany Jamison, Matthew Prince, Katie Mocknick, Joseph Mocknick, Bobby Lampkin, Bryan Lampkin, Randy Lampkin, Casey Lampkin and Angela Kurtz, all of Vicksburg; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Lampkin and Summer Nevels, both of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Lampkin, Randy lampkin, Kenneth Prince, Matthew Prince, Joseph Mocknick and Chris Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lennis McCammon, Danny McCammon, Gary Berchefield, Randy McCaffrey, Louie Miller and Harold Soverns.
Atira L. Thomas
Services for Atira L. Thomas will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Priestly Chapel M.B. Church in Canton. Burial will follow at Garden Memorial Park in Jackson. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday at Peoples Funeral Home in Jackson.
Ms. Thomas died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 25.
She was employed in the food service department at Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Mary Ann Wansley
FLORENCE – Mary Ann Wansley died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 75.
Mrs. Wansley was a longtime resident of Rankin County and a member of First Baptist Church of Richland. She was a former assistant Postmaster at Valley Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Wansley; and a son, Will Wansley.
She is survived by two sons, David Steen Wansley of Vicksburg and Tandy Wayne Wansley of Richland; three daughters, Tommie Ann Bays of Brandon and Fran Braxton and Darryl Braxton, both of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, James Ed Steen of Yazoo City and H.W. Steen of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Private burial will follow at Sinai Cemetery in Florence.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Denita Delise Warren
Denita Delise Warren, infant daughter of Cerrick Warren and Bodicia Williams, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at her home in Bovina.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Burnell and Claudette Davis.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Ashlee Warren of Bovina; cousins; and other relatives.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at New Hope Cemetery in Bovina with the Rev. Frank Gardner officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
