Joseph Edley England Jr.
CHRISTIANBURG, Va. — Joseph Edley “J.E.” England Jr. died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, Va.
He was 88.
Born in Vicksburg, he was the son of the late Joseph Edley England Sr. and Dorothy Gertrude Johns England. A graduate of Carr Central High School, he had served in U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired as a sales representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was a former educator, having taught classes for Bluefield Business College. He was a member of Princeton Presbyterian Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Princeton Elks Lodge No. 1459.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Van Staveren England; one son, Phillip Lloyd Martin; one brother, William Earl England; and one sister, Hilda Rose Jones.
He is survived by three daughters, Ruth England Johnson of Christiansburg, Donna J. Martin Drake of Chesapeake, Va., and Lisa Martin Stowe of Columbia, S.C.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Betty G. England of Vicksburg.
A private service will be scheduled with Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton, W.Va., in charge of arrangements.

Thaddeus Jeffery
Services for Thaddeus “Duke” Jeffery will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service with the Rev. Phillip Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be until 6 tonight at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. Friday until the hour of service.
Mr. Jeffery died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, as the result of a gunshot wound. He was 21.
Mr. Jeffery was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawerence Williams III; and a sister, Yolanda Ford.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Jeffery of Baton Rouge; his fiancee, Rhonda Cook of Vicksburg; four daughters, TyRhiana Jeffery, Keymaiya Jeffery, Zameria Smith and Melanie Lewis, all of Vicksburg; a son, Javin Swartz of Vicksburg; a stepson, Anthony Lumpkin of Vicksburg; two sisters, Nina Ford of Vicksburg and Breauna Jeffery of Baton Rouge; and his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Williams of New Orleans.
Johnnie Johnson
Services for Johnnie Johnson will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 tonight at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of service.
Mr. Johnson died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 51.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Johnson of Vicksburg; one daughter, Gertrude Davis of Vicksburg; his parents, Johnnie Johnson Sr. of Jackson and Ethel Jean Sanders of Lancaster, Calif.; a brother, Anthony Sanders of Las Vegas; four sisters, Vicki Lewis and Patricia Sanders, both of Jackson, and Terry Ann Sanders and Annette Sanders, both of Lancaster; three grandchildren, one uncle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary Louise Kinstley
Mary Louise Kinstley died Tuesday, Sept. 04, 2007, at her daughter’s home in Gluckstadt. She was 94.
Born in Copiah County, Mrs. Kinstley had lived in Vicksburg for 56 years. She worked as a nurse at Vicksburg Infirmary and retired from Vicksburg Public Schools as a dietician after 26 years of service. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and Senior Saints.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Kinstley; a son, Louis Kinstley; and a daughter, Betty Mosmeyer.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Virginia Donnell of Gluckstadt, Carmen Case of Clinton and Cindy Kinstley of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sons, Billy Sidney Kinstley Sr. of Raymond and the Rev. Art Kinstley of Brandon; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bill Chapham and Kent Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Davis Mosmeyer, Bill Kinstley Jr., Anthony Kinstley, Keith Kinstley, Eric Branch, Neal Kinstley, Joe Kinstley, Archie Kinstley, Steve Donnell, Sean Donnell and Paul Donnell.
Leroy Lewis
Services for Leroy Lewis will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Hill M.B. Church with the Rev. Booker T. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Lewis Family Cemetery on Oak Ridge Road.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Robbins Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Mr. Lewis died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.
Mr. Lewis was a retired logger and a member of Holy Hill M.B. Church. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Abbie Lewis; one son, Leroy Lewis Jr.; and one brother, David Lewis Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Henderson Lewis; two sons, Victor Tyrone Lewis and James Ray Lewis, both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Melinda Reece of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Ruth Lewis of Vicksburg.
