Alice Fannie Mae Crider

DELHI — Services for Alice Fannie Mae Crider will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lamar Baptist Church in Delhi with the Rev. Bucky Curry officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Crider died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 69.

Mrs. Crider was born in Tallulah and had lived there most of her life. She was a retired dental assistant and a member of North Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Fannie Nelson of Delhi; a daughter, Jamai Hutto of Tallulah; two brothers, Danny Ray Nelson of Texas and Jerry Paul Nelson of Tallulah; seven sisters, Shirley Fulford of Delhi, Arlene Walker, Pam Hodge and Ruth Still, all of Tallulah, Ruby Phelps of Vicksburg, Jan Campbell of Bossier City, La., and Jonnie Gilcrease of Camden, Ark.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Nelson, Jeff Eagles, Foster Bullock, Penny Pennibaker, Paul Fulford and Travis Walker.

Johnny W. Porterpan

PORT GIBSON — Johnny W. Porterpan died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 91.

Mr. Porterpan was a lifelong resident of Port Gibson. He retired from LeTourneau Company in 1981 after 20 years of service. He was a member of Lorman Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Porterpan; a son, John Albert Porterpan; a brother, Frank Porterpan; and a sister, Mary Porterpan.

He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Bufkin and Nettie Dennis, both of Vicksburg, a stepdaughter, Louise Parsons of Wesson; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Bufkin, Robby Bufkin, T.J. Smith, David Smith, Williams May IV, Stanley Bufkin, Timothy Hicks Jr. and Shane Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Evans, Jennifer L. Wilson, William Parsons, Albert M. Parsons, Charles L. Bufkin, Thomas C. Parsons, Robert A. Bufkin, Randy L. Bufkin, James A. Bufkin and Larry W. Bufkin.
